Antichamber

What is the "Time Remaining" for?
I've beaten the game both before and after the timer expires and nothing seems to change... wtf happens when it hits 0?

Read the spoiler below.

Once it expires, it displays a cartoon with a caption saying "Go by your own clock, and not someone else's". That's it.

It actually
unlocks sign #6 on the sign wall, which reads "Live on your own watch, not on someone elses."

That's extremely lame as well as incredibly underwhelming. Ah well, at least I know now (Thanks).

I think it's quite clever and keeps you frantic until you figure out what it does.

It gives you motivation!

It's one of those 'why...?' kind of things this game is so great about. Why is there a countdown timer on the wall? Does it matter? It kept me wondering for a good 90 minutes, or however long it lasts. Just another piece of the mystery to puzzle over as you explore.

I swear about 9/10ths of the things people ask on here is covered on the Antichamber wiki. xD No offence to OP's question -- I did answer it above earlier -- just that some of the stuff that gets asked on here could have been easily solved by checking the wiki.
You're right, btw, it lasts an hour and a half.

I think I did check the Wiki but the way it's worded it only explains what happens when it expires... making no attempt to point out that that is all it does.

Saying what happens when it expires is what it does... I don't see the problem. Feel free to change the wording of it though if you want, it is a wiki after all; it's open to any edits.

Actually it has to be one of my most favorite signs in the game...

The first three or four times I got down under 5 minutes on that timer, I actually restarted the game, since I figured it was going to force me to quit, or make some important thing impossible to do. I was quite amused the first time I failed to get out before the timer expired only to find that nothing bad happens.
I told my friend not to let the timer run out or else something freaky would happen. It's more fun that way.

You will see if you play long enough
