New Player * Am I missing something?

Early on in my game, there was some event that wiped all the trees off my map and I had no way to get more wood on my local map. I had enough stockpiled so that I could limp along under I got regional development so that I could get wood from off map.

Just as I got it the development, I also ran out of wood and lumber, and now I could not build the camp to collect wood because it required lumber! Am I just screwed unless some random merchant comes along that happens to sell lumber? I have seen several merchants, but so far none has sold lumber.

I tried demolishing some windmills to get lumber, and even it indicated that I was getting some resources back, but nothing showed up in my storehouse.

I just continued my game, and when the game opened there were no trees either. It never mentioned as to anything happening to cause this condition. Maybe this is a bug? I would not think it is possible to have all our trees wiped out.
If so, then i am not very impressed with this game.

Did you find a way to continue playing or did you have to restart?

is bug a they mentioned they have fixed but if your save game had the bug you would need to restart or load a save before the bug occurred. Happened to me too, had to restart.

I loaded my saved game today, and now the trees are back again.

I did not start playing until AFTER that patch supposedly fixed that bug, which is why I made the post. I loaded up the game today and even in my most current save, all the trees magically came back.

Just wait...lol I had a 'no rain' event that lasted a few years and depleted all the water on my whole map
