what happened to zombie fortress?

The Zombie Fortress mode is currently being developed by the community (technically as a mod!) - it will be added as an official gamemode once it's completed, I'm gathering.

That is too bad, I saw a review with the zombies and its what convinced me to buy. I am enjoying it though, and cant wait for the release of the mod!

same, its a great game even w/o, but i bought it hoping for some fun, nonstressful co-op : P so the lack of zombie fortess is a big downer. Hope it gets added soon

The old version of this (KAG Clasic/Alpha), which is free had a game mode named Zombie Fortress.

You missed the fact that you needed to buy the alpha to play zombies in classic. But yes the developers are not the ones developing it directly but they will implement it when the community finishes it up.

It hasn't 100% but there are people working on it and it might either come out as a mod or put into the game.

The game has been made all over again from the alpha, so they didn't remove the zombies. They just didn't add them again. (and they could be made by other people..)

Well there are still other mods being made as most the game is available to be scripted.
