What do these ranks do?

I see i'm rank 16. Is that counted by kills or is that counted by time played? Does it do anything? And is there a max rank?

you get xp. buy # of assists and kills, also by completing objective... Ranking up unlocks weapons which I believe are asteteck only ( I would like to know more myself)

Rank means nothing. All you get from rank is new helmets (aesthetics only) when you hit certain ranks.
New weapons are unlocked by getting kills with previous weapons in the same weapon line.

All rank really measures is the amount of general experience you have at the game. Example being rank 40s tend to be better than rank 30s. Usually. I've seen some terribad 40s before.

Ranks are basically a measure of experience in kills.
So the hhigher the rank, the more experienced the player is, but not necessarily the more skilled.
I've met dozens of rank 50+ that were just plain terrible since all they play is free for all. And some of them even play third person which usually makes them even worse.

On the other hand I've seen rank 50 duelists that are terrible in team objective maps since all they know is how to overwhelm in attacks, they don't have any sense of teamwork, positioning or target switching.

If you want to get good by the time you reach rank 40, make sure you play all gamemodes a decent amount of time.

Sir Pink isn't half bad you know. Is also the first legit rank 60.

There's no max rank, but there's a sheet of the ranks around somewhere, forgot the link though. (lemon or dude might have it)

And Sir Pink is in US so people from EU won't really fight him.

The only rank 80 is ky wild, he got his rank when you could still gain exp from modded game modes. Afaik there's no one legit above rank 64, the person who is rank 64 plays like a rank 30ish though, guess that's what you get when you farm FFA without ever parrying.

There's actually a few people above rank 65. Illegitimately of course.

Hell even the first couple of rank 60s got there illegitimately. 1,800 hours competitive LTS rank 60? I don't think so.

Rank means one day you'll reach lvl15 and then you gonna suck even more than before.

bot farming do not work....

bot farming used to work. they changed the code so bot kills didn't give XP. they forgot about assists though, since most people were doing it FFA mode. still, it'd be a pretty slow way to rank up.
