High ping?

I have high ping on almost every server in this game and I'm not sure why. Most games I play I get around 40-100 ping on good servers but in this game the lowest i can find is around 200. This ordinarily wouldn't be too bad but in a game based around timing and when most other people have 20-60 ping on the same servers it is an issue. Most other people I see have under 100 ping, so why is my ping so high? I live in the US and get good ping in other games I play so I would expect to have a good connection. Some servers I even have as high as 3000 ping! Anyone else have high ping on all servers? Any way to fix this?

I am unaware of any bugs with the game that cause high pings.. You probably already know this, but just incase... Check you don't have anything downloading in the background and make sure the servers you are trying to connect to are in the US. If you've already checked all that and are still having troubles try verifying the game cache, failing that a reinstall might help. Sorry if none of that helps you and good luck finding a fix.

It's probably your connection, perhaps a temporary issue. Does anyone at your house download stuff/watch videos etc. while you're playing? (it could be a problem with your ISP too)

Also it could be your location. I'm from Finland and most servers seem to be located quite far from here; most servers ping 180+ for me.

There is another post up with the same topic.. so you are not alone. Sounds like it might actually be a problem with the game.. don't quote me on that, but if you have no issues with any other games you play then its quite likely. If I were you I would check out the official forums and do a search for your issue.. if you fail to find anything then make a post about it. I am not sure if anybody from Tornbanner even looks at these forums.

How can you get 3000 ping without being disconnected? Wow. The most i've hit is about 500, anything more than that and i'm gone.

Back on topic, recently i've been getting a HUGE lag spikes during games. I'm from the UK and only tend to play on EU servers but it seems like it doesn't make much difference if I play on US, Japanese or a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Yanomami server from deep within the Amazon rainforest. I make sure I close down applications I don't need before I play so that isn't an issue.

How frustrating it can be to parry 1 second later than you normally would due to a lag spike. Been doing a lot of rage quitting recently.

I have a similar problem. My ping is very high for some reason. I have only had the game for a few days now but my ping seems fairly consistent. I don't have this problem with any other games.

You can't get 3000 ping in this game. It stops at 988.
