Argon brah
So agatha could not have been ambushed by such a large force inside its own territory? Now I think its worth pointing out that during world war two, the russian advance into germany spanned many many miles, creating a huge front of battle. Now with such a large front, hitler ordered many of his men to create "fortresses". Small fortified areas to be defended untill the death of the men inside, now at many times, the german defenders were unable to predict which area along the front was to be attacked. And thus many times were ill prepared and poorly reinforced. Take that as an example as to what may be happening, if the mason armiers occupy a very wide front, it would be very difficult for argon to determine exactly where they would strike next. Worse still, if the mason army was large enough to attack many different areas along such a massive front, argons men would be diverted and cut off in many areas. Making even having enough scouts to cover all his major forts and cities a very big issue.
Yeah but you're missing the point, the situation you described basically says that the defending forces are expecting an attack but just don't know where. If Argon was expecting an attack why doesn't he allow the filthy peasants in? CAUSE HE'S OCD, case closed.
We cant assume that though, judgeing by the fact the masons are on the offense on almost all maps it means at the current time they are winning, they are pushing deeper and deeper into agatha territory. Its also note worthy that the masons are probably a larger force then the agathas, since the agathas are the army that returned from the kings crusade in the story video.
And many of them were wiped out in the crusade, all the while the masons had been on home turf, recruiting men to build thier army. The fact that argons forces have only been able to go on the attack in a few of the maps means that the situation for them overall is pretty bleak, they are retreating and being driven farther and farther back behind thier lines, this is evidenced by the fact that the royal family is protected only by makeshift shelters of planks, the cistern has NO defense set up whatsoever, and on the maps where the agathans are attacking, the masons have far better defenses (trebs on hilliside, walls with ballista in the volcano one, ect.) What all this suggest is that the agathans are fighting a losing war, are outnumbered by the masons, and are gradually being forced back, with the most they can do is set up makeshift defenses and hope for the best.
FOR MALRIIIIIIIC!!! *in Mason MAA voice*
Next to a volcano.
