Maul tactic?(sry for spamming discussion)
I have trouble using the maul. I realized that it can one-shot-kill every classes(except for knights). But the problem is that the maul is WAY too slow. I tried moving my view but that makes myself not looking at the enemy. Any advice you guys can give me?

Well I am not very good with the maul but I can offer you some general tips for slow swinging weapons. It's all about timing and unpredictability.

-To play any slow weapon well you need to know how to accelerate attacks. Not going to give a full explantion here, check out the Guide, "Advanced combat mechanics" http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=119397131.

-Start swinging before you come in range for an attack. Begin your windup out of range of your opponents attack, then move in quickly at the last moment so you reach him just as your attack lands.

-If you are parried, move back and get ready to defend yourself. Do not start another attack immediately after you are parried. You will almost always get hit first, even with quick weapons.

-Be unpredictable. Make like you are charging towards one guy, then just before your attack lands, switch targets to another nearby opponent. Act like you are running away, begin your attack, and turn to hit the guy chasing you at the last second. By all means gank people from behind. Nothing is more frustrating than getting 1-hit-killed by a maul you never even saw coming. Does terrible things to morale.

-Learn the weapon reaches and speeds. This way you can instantly judge how far you need to move back to avoid getting hit, and how long you have to close the distance and strike before they recover from their missed swing.

-Don't be afraid to switch to your secondary. Some situations are hopeless with the maul or other slow weapons. I recommend a sword for slashing damage if you are using a blunt primary like the maul. This will help you deal with those MAAs and archers that get in super close and overwhelm you with attacks.

That's all I got for now. Try browsing the guides for more tips.
