Here's how I've fixed The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).
After some research I've managed to fix it. Basically when trying to start the game via the launcher nothing would happen and when you'd manually get into the game's folder and try to run the 64bit exe it'd give this "The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" error, having to run the 32bit one.

Here's a quote :

Hi Barry,

ReImage does solve the problem. I recently found a solution that doesn't require reimage.

The problem was due to 32/64-bit mismatches of various system dlls required by Visual studio. Somehow the dlls it needs got replaced by 64-bit versions that it couldn’t load.

Replacing the dlls mentioned below from a machine that is working solves the problem:

c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcp100.dll
c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcp100d.dll
c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcr100.dll
c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcr100_clr0400.dll
c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcr100d.dll

Thanks

Basically you oughta extract all the dll's from this rar (download here[www.bitdefender.com]) then simply copy all of them and paste them in windows/system32 and replace. Then you can run the game. Thankfully I found the dll.rar somewhere else so it saved on the hassle of getting each individually.

For me it works. ((Also the dll's seem to come from bitdefender's site, so it's pretty much safe))

did this work for anyone?
I've tried this several times, did not work. Installed Netframes, directX from years ago up to now, drivers up to date, physx etc etc. Crap, Dead State 3, Dead Rising 3 and Archblade are not working
Alternatively you can delete the msvcr DLL files from both windows/SysWOW64 and system32 and then reinstall the Visual C++ runtimes.

Make sure to D/L 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Simply running those installers again may also solve the problem.

if I did everything you can do and still I could not solve the problem: S
I can't replace the "msvcr100_clr0400.dll" I'll click "continue" with the Administrator function but it just doesn't allow it. I'm not even allowed to delete the file either.
NOTE: I am the Administrator account, the hidden one.
So I do not understand why this won't work.:skybornannoyed:

Same for me.
I fixed 0x00007b error with "msvcr100_clr0400.dll" you need to change permission file
right click/properties/security "TrustedInstaller" owner
add full control to your user

than you can replace it with other dll.
Windows 10 64bit

yeah downlading .dll files from a website and placing them in windows folder sounds so legit.
no malware.. :'D

i would rather download the missing redist packages from microsoft.

The files are from the bitdefender website, they make anti-virus software.

That said I wouldn't suggest a layperson to download a mystery dll and drop in the windows folder... Even just deleting one single file in there can **** your whole computer.

Old post, but running the 2012 installer's on repair fixed the issue for me.
I recently upgraded to 64bit from 32bit so might have been the reason.

No need to delete the files-- the installer does everything automatically.
