I could tell you the story. As the book of lore is now lost in time since TB updated their website.

3 years before the events of the game King Alphonso Argon had just made the final expansion to his Agathian empire. Taking the iron fist province of Vantear by destroying their mighty citadel. Peace finally reigned after this empire building. There was no where left to expand the entire continent was largely under his control. But Argon was not happy with peace. He knew of a land across the seas to the north. A perfect place to expand his empire. A conquest that even the church would support. The land of Tenosia. However one of his lords a well known military commander named Malric Terrowin did not support another military conquest so soon. They hadn't stabilised the empire, the army was tired and they didn't know much of this land and its people. Malric was ignored. And preparations were made. The largest fleet ever seen was assembled and troops loaded aboard many of them new recruits. Malric Terrowin commanded the elite forces of the Agathian army. Throughout the Tenosian crusade Malric's elite force would become to be known as the Mason Order.
The crusade went badly. The heat and the desert took its tool and made moving long distances difficult. The cities and towns they took greatly opposed their new rulers as their cultures were too different. Their enemy greatly outnumbered them and did not mind the heat. They used tactics unseen by the Agathian forces. 3 years later one last decisive battle was fought. Resulting in a catastrophic Agathain defeat. What was worse King Alphonso Argon had gone missing in the battle. Nobody could find him. Not even his body. Not many believed he was dead. Feydrid Kearn took command he was the kings right hand man. The kings eldest son Danum Argon had also gone missing earlier in the campaign. Feydrid wanted the king found. If there was no body then the king wasn't dead right? Malric Terrowin wanted no part in a search and rescue operation and was furious at the king for not listening to him. He set sail for home with the mason order and anyone else who wanted to leave.
When Malric he got busy. There wasn't anyone to claim the throne if the king was dead. He was a distant relative of the king so he had royal blood. And there was no one in the Agathian empire to stop him. When he was fighting in Vantear with Argon he began to like the Vantear values. Which was strength is everything. The weak should die and be slaves. He had only picked the strong for his mason order. He began spreading his influence throughout the empire saying that the king was a fool to go out on a crusade and now he's dead. Getting support from many towns and villages who had sent men off to fight. He began recruiting a new army. Shortly had had the entire empire under his control and called himself king. Making the old damaged and abandoned fortress in Vantear his headquarters.
Feydrid Kearn never found king Argon. He decided it was time to return with the main agathian army. When he returned he found than many of the coastal towns didn't welcome them back. He revived some reports of agathian ships being fired upon by and unkown force. When the bulk of the transports sailed into the main agathian port they were refused entry. They were fired upon and had a brief skirmish with ships flying colours they hadn't seen before. These flags flew over the port town. And only then he realised he had seen these colours before. They were the flags of the mason order. Feydrid quickly backed off and prepared a landing force. A joint Naval and land assault. Once the land forces had secured the beach and reached the walls they would signal the ships to knock down the walls and move into port. This is where the game starts. This is the TO map hillside.

So after this story what side will you choose. The Agathians trying to retake its homeland and empire? Or the masons trying to assert its power and beliefs over the land?
*tears up* So beautiful, really fits with the holidays right now.
So TO citadel map is the Vantear citadel that was occupied by Malric force?
Yep. The reason why it looks destroyed is because it was by the Agathians years beforehand. No one would think of looking for Malric there. But now Malric's men occupy it and are rebuilding it. The citadel had a name but I forgot it. It said it was built on the side of a volcano but it doesn't say when it erupted.
Is there something with the story of Spectral Echo ,I remember a legend but idk if it is true or not.
