What's special about it. It's mostly just chainmail and plate.

Its based off the Armour of the Byzantine Varangian Guard. Google that.

The Varangian guard was the royal guard of the Byzantine emperors. It wasn't made up of Byzantines however. It was made up of Viking and Anglo-Saxon mercenaries. Norsemen essentially. The reasoning Behind that is that mercenaries won't have any political ambitions so they generally won't end up assassinating their own emperor. They are well paid, equipped by the state with the best equipment and given a whole lot of other bonuses. They lose all that if they fail to protect their emperor.

I like the voice acting for the mason knight the best. The guy who did the work should get into reading childrens audio books.

I might like history. Just a tad. Anything you want to know about the past I'll tell you.

The mason knight voice actor also did the voice of the Agathian knight he did both. Just how both MAA are done by the same voice actor. The MAA voice actor also did the ninja in deadliest warrior.

I forgot a lot about my past, can you help me?..j/k I wish I wasn't so tired after work because I'd read books too. I as well like reading about history and war, but you seem like you took a program/course in university/college from the detail you provide when people have such questions.

I've actually just been the historical researcher among other things for large mods lol. For total war games and red orchestra 2. Never studied history though I've done research projects for things like biology so I know how to research lol.

Lemonater what was the most common weapon used by German mercenaries during the 1300s-1500s?

A variety of polearms I would imagine. Unless they were wealthy enough to own a two handed sword.
