Feudal Japan theme
Would be so awesome. Deadliest warrior that has samurais are awesome, but it's just not so fun when I see pirates and knights and whatnot.

Imagine a stand alone expansion ''Chivalry: Bushido'' or way of the samurai or something like that.

New awesome maps set in feudal Japan, new awesome voice acting etc. Heavy team objective game in general would be nice. Cool siege battles should be in there.

4 classes;
Bow samurai (archer) who would be the ranged support unit, about as squishy as the current archer, perhaps even could get acess to matchlocks (shamefur dispray !) for increased firepower, at the cost of very long reload times and inaccuracy. Matchlocks would be very good against all classes expect heavy samurais.
With bow you could have certain places where you could set your arrow on fire before releasing it for some over time damage on hit. Arrow types: arrow 1; ment to engage ninjas and other bow samurais, arrow 2; ment to be used against samurai and heavy samurai (still pretty good against ninjas and bow samurais aswell) this arrow type would be the balanced one with a little better focus on said classes though, arrow 3; ment to be used against heavy samurai only (yes heavy samurai is so badass they need their own arrows :D )

Ninja (man at arms), pretty same as maa, quick fighter the relies to stab people in the back, finish off wounded enemies and simply tries to avoid not being hit, unsuitable in direct combat for the lack of armor. You could...even introduce siege maps where you have to actually takeover castle, where ninjas could actually climb walls and flank their way to objectives which other classes cannot do, they could sabotage castle gates so main force can rush from the front, kinda like ''hidden bonus objective''. Notable would be increased damage and armor penetration when attacking enemies from behind (melee weapon only). A execute mechanic: if you get behind bow samurais (archers) that are standing still you can execute a slit throat attack, silent attack, would be bound to a different key if the ninja rather desires to use normal means to attack the archer from behind. Works only on archers. If slit throat action is used, it won't be showed on the kill feed (only allies can see that you did that).

Samurai (vanguard), balanced, versatile fighter with access to many weapons, nothing special to note about this class, would be your standard warrior. Nice armor, nice speed. Would not be able to do ''vanguard charge'' attack, only a special after sprint directional attack dash thing after sprint, increased damage, but not a crazy banzai jump swing like the current vanguard can do. The special attack after sprint: the samurai has much more control over his weapon, be able to chose attack style (Stab, slash (left, right), uppercut, lowercut). The Ideal use of this class would support Heavy samurai units. From example denying enemy retreat or making sure enemy classes such as other samurais or ninjas cannot overwhelm the heavy samurais.

''Heavy samurai'' (knight) can't figure out a better name for this class, would be the heaviest samurai on the battlefield with alot of health and stamina, however regenerating these takes alot longer for them. Notable mention would be increased resistance to matchlock rifles (except head). Samurais do not use shields, so besically a significant resistance to matchlock rifle passive buff would make sure the rifles get some hard counter. Or you could equip this resistance by not taking a throwing weapon perhaps instead of it being a passive buff.
Bow units however can still cause very good damage with the right arrow type. Besically this unit would be the ''shock trooper''. Large weapons such as no-dachis or long spears or weapons such as naginatas. The unit could perform a very powerful forward charge, similar to the vanguards charge, however getting to that run speed requires considerably longer time to sprint to get to the required speed.
Other mention would be that these guys would move slowly, however can get to vanguard speed after a long time running. These guys would be ment to be in the thick of it, not running and flanking around sinse they initially move very slowly. Will have difficult to pursue fleeing foes, hence support from samurais and ninjas is valuable. (encouraging teamwork and balance the team out in general).

The classes should be a little familiar from Chivalry but in the end different to justify a purchase. Also the game should have some pretty cool battles, unique siege battles where attackers actually start from outside of castle, working their way in with unique (perhaps even randomized) objectives.
At the very end when attackers have got themself in most inner walls the attackers would win, however a small little bonus fight would start, where top 3 players from the attackers and defender are pitched against eachother. I guess it would be kinda like each factions daimyo / general and their 2 loyal bodyguards would have 3vs3 duel. Other players would be around them in some short of circle (where the lost defenders are on their knees and the attackers are holding their weapons on their throats), so besically every player would have 1st person view on the duel area and every player is in the game physically, however not being able to move or attack (nor take damage from the 3vs3 fight). The outcome of the fight would not alter the fact that attackers all ready won the castle over, it would be just a fun little thing to have. Honor and all that :D

I mean chivalry is so unique and the gameplay would fit a feudal japan theme so well too.
Am I the only one wanting to see this theme in the game fully ?! :)

My god I wrote a long post....if you managed to read all the way over here, thank you for reading :)

There were some chaps that were going to make a Bushido mod for Chivalry. Then they decided to go at it and make it a stand-alone game. But as far as I can tell all they ever actually do is make a cheesy 3D model of a house once in a while and call it progress.

http://www.moddb.com/games/bushido-legend-of-the-samurai

Originally a mod for chivalry as the moderator said. Initially called Bushido: Feudal Warfare and now called that.

They just released a new progress update saying how they have changed engines. Again.

Progress is pretty slow for them lol. Apparently now in 2015 they can work on the game almost full time now instead of every other weekend.

At least after 2 and a half years they are still working on it though. Haven't given up. It was announced in the same month chivalry was released back in 2012.

It was supposed to be released Q4 2014 with its kickstarter Q1 2014. That's didn't work out considering its 2015 and it hasn't had a kickstarter yet lol.

It won't have classes either. You pick and choose what sort of armour and weapons you want mount and blade style. You will have an honour system. Which changes what armour and weapons your character can use. For example only dishonourable players can use firearms. No idea how they are gonna balance that and they include teamkills as a way of losing honour which is stupid lol.

All I know is that the voice commands are going to be fun to spam.

@Lemo The honor system sounds dumb. Since Samurai used guns A LOT.
Anyway. Would be cool to see a Chivalry:Bushido ( Or whatever ) I would personally like to see shields. Since some Samurai/Ashigaru would use large two handed shields, and ninja had a shield to go with their wakizashi or katana... not sure which one they would be using. Also, I find it weird you did not mention an Ashigaru class, as they were the basic foot soldiers of the time, much like the man at arms for chivalry. Edit: The shields were not very common yet they were used, especially before samurai, the samurai chose to mostly ditch shields so they could keep using bows. ( Atleast Metatron theorizises that, and it makes sense to me. ) The large two handed shield logically should not really be used imo because that you would need a buddy to help you if you used that, the one handed shield should be an unlockabe or something and would be a replacement for shuriken or smoke bomb or fire bomb or something...
