Who else thinks we shouldn't have to pay for armor skins?
Seriously. This is ridiculous. This is one of the only games of this style that doesn't allow you to fully customize your warrior, which is why I barely play it now. If you want to look different, you have to spend money, and everyone knows you just spent cash. Why is there no armor to unlock? Even if it's just cosmetic, it would show that persons skill level because they would have actually EARNED it. Nobody wants to spend $8 on cosmetic skins.

Not only that, there truly is not enough to unlock in terms of weaponry. I have all the weapons except for maybe 5 of them, and I'm only around level 20. This is why armor should be part of the unlockables, rather than making us BUY them for ridiculous prices.

Devs give you free new weapon, new map, new customization so maybe we should let them have their chance to make money right?

I bought the game on sale for like £3.99 and got 700 hours out of it.

I think of the extra £20 of cosmetics I paid to make up the difference a little, plus get some cool $w4g.

Cosmetic microtransactions are the only good microtransactions. Count your blessings.

Also, yeah, 1500+ hours in, I don't mind spending a bit of cash.

So true.

I spent 20 ish and I have about 70 ish hours. I find it boring and would never pay for armor skins. Mount and Blade: Warband multiplayer mods are basically a better version of this game, I think the devs could take a few notes. I honestly find this game just redundant. There simply needs to be more unlockables. The maps are small, combat is limited, and the rpg elements are at best, extremely shallow. I simply don't see the point in playing, after awhile the fun of de-limbing people wears off and you are left with this empty multiplayer experience that is void of character progression depth.

you have heavy control over your color scheme, and you can earn veteran helmets for each class. while I think they are a bit over priced, that's just my opinion, because I have the choice of not buying them. they can charge whatever the hell they want for the cosmetic stuff, it's their game, their right, and their work they put into it.

tl;dr: the pay for cosmetics system is fine as is. deal with it.

It's a rip off. You don't need to get so defensive ya little girl.

Heavy control? Are you kidding? Changing colours and picking designs from a preset list isn't "heavy control". Why can't I make a face? Why can't I unlock new armor as I progress? It just seems silly that we can unlock weapons yet have to pay about $10 just for new armor. Also if you think around $10 is not a lot for a new skin, you are smoking meth. You can find most full games on here for around $20.

Thats your opinion that it is "Fine as is". People who want depth and real character progression in their games certainly would agree with me. Not to mention, the blocking system is not intuitive at all. Have you even tried Mount and Blade:Warband? The blocking is so precise and requires specific mouse movements to block certain incoming attack directions. I use it as an example because they are similar multiplayer games, just one is way more strategic and fun.

Also, I love M+B but sometimes would prefer the better graphics/detachable limbs. So I'm torn, does that not make sense?

if the multiplayer mods make the game so good then
1) why does chivalry have more players
2) why are you playing chivalry instead of it?

anyway, in answer to your triple post, the reason they lack advanced facial customization is likely to reduce latency (especailly since half the classes have their face covered usually), and while $10 for a cosmetic item is asking a fair bit, it is the industry standard (see the cost of 3 cosmetic items in tf2, along with paint cans. then consider enough people go for that to cause the game to be affectionately reffered to as a war themed hat simulator). If you feel the cosmetics are over priced, then don't buy them. if you feel the game should be more like a different game, then go play that game. there's nothing wrong with preferring it to this, but I fail to see the point in complaining that a game you don't like isn't like a game you do.

My friends and I think it makes perfect sense to have unlockable armor skins. I don't understand why you don't see this. Also the reason I am concerned and making this post AT ALL, is because this game has potential to be more than it is. Taking the armor off the marketplace and putting it in the game as unlockables would be nice. Many different suits to customize your warrior, or at least a class system that sticks with your character build so that not everyone is the same. the game feels arcade-ish when it shouldn't at all.

Lastly, is that a real statement? You actually think player count matters and determines how GOOD a game is? That's like saying "Justin Beiber" is a good musician because he has high record sales. It's bull. Also, this is a forum, if you disagree with my opinion, fine but you don't have to take it personally and act like a child. You also have yet to provide a solid counter argument as to why my ideas are somehow bad.

You act as though the game sales aren't enough. This game is vastly popular in comparison to other steam games. There are other games with much less funding and smaller dev teams that don't rip off their customers with $8 armor skins in a medieval game where you control a knight. Not to forget, why isn't there at least 10 different styles of armor? Very shallow.

They rip no one off because you don't need to buy the skin no one is forcing you to buy it and get extra stats or something. I don't see why it is such big problem you can buy the skins and with that money you support the devs of the game you like to play, tbh other games skins are rip off if you see some prices on the market of steam and I will aslo give an advise to be more polite to other people on this forum. You also need to remember this isn't skyrim where you make your own character and such :P.

I'm only responding harshly to those who have been rude to me because of simply disagreeing with me. Also, what you are saying doesn't really justify your position. I have an apartment to pay for as well as bills and food so why should I be dumping my hard earned cash toward a game that I already paid for? That's what I don't understand about this whole "paying for a game after you already bought it" sort of thing. They are just armor skins, I can't even fathom spending $8 or more on those. They should be part of the unlockables in order to give us more to strive for in game. Does that truly not make sense? Like I said, I have almost all the unlocks and I'm only around lvl 20 - That's a problem for hardcore gamers. At this point, I find it hard to get into because I got all the unlocks I needed and everyone who HAS the cooler armor just bought it, so it defeats the purpose of being "that guy with the badass armor" because you turn into "that guy with his parents money/rich guy who bought his way to the top". Know what I mean?

Why are you even making this discussion no one is telling you to buy the skins, I don't see why you bring hardcore gamers into this, because they wouldn't complain about skins that they can buy they would else just buy it or else just leave it and play the game they like.
