What is best, 1st or 3rd person view?
I mean, what view do all the l33tpro's use? And why?

l33tpros use first person in competitive play as that's the way its meant to be played.

Third person is used for pubstomping and is generally looked down upon if you use 3rd person with a massive FOV.

The game was originally not gonna have 3rd person. But it was already there as part of the unreal 3 engine so they added it in.

I see.
Thank you.
What do you use?

i find 3rd person more usefull because of the large fov (ultimately the ability to see strikes coming in from behind better) but it's kinda weird (for me). And it's quite easy to miss people :-? so i prefer 1st person :D

I also prefer 1st person, but it doesnt pay off in publics.
Strangely enough, I block alot more in 3rd than in 1st person. Maybe because you can see better where the tip of the enemy weapon is going to land where in 1st person especially the 2handers that are incoming are partially hidden on your screen if enemy is close to you.

1st person was the core plan when this game was being developed in it's early stages, and I think new players find out quite soon that the game was designed for first person.
Honestly though, when you pit an experienced first person user against an experienced third person user, the third person user does have a clear advantage.

On the other hand, ever tried blocking daggers, shortswords and sh*t in 3rd person? Not exactly a fun experience.

True, but it does help against the 2handers making those spin-mouse moves with LMB1 spam!
Also, archering in 3rd person seems to be slightly more helpful in leading targets. But that's my personal experience.

And yet it's usual that those spin-mouse movers as you call them are playing in 3rd person. Game should have just been 1st person, as originally intended.

You know it is totally possible to do that in first person only right...? I know people who tend to play on First Person restricted servers and they can pull it off quite well.

I use both about 50/50 depends on certain things really.

my fov i like to play with is maxed too, just how i like it, i can't stand it close up..anything below 90 for example.

Play in first person and raise your fov, it's better for blocking, reading attack you can go higher than 120 fov by using fov "your number" in the console, and third or first does not gonna make a diff vs noobs in public, if you're good you destroy them anyway.
