Here in this video, the sfx seem more crisp and realistic, while mine seems to be strange and seems outdated, even though that video is from 2012. Let me try to describe a few sounds of MY chivalry. Let's say I'm using a broadsword on a vanguard. I connect with a stab. The sound of that stab sounds like poking a hole in a bag with liquid inside it, with a squirting sound. I'm sorry i can't describe this well but really the sfx in that video is different(and better imo) than mine that i have right now.

Thanks for the reply btw!
I have like 150+ hours logged into the game and i dont recognize the sounds on my friends computer lol. Oh well I guess i have to deal with this then. Thanks for the replies though lmao.
It's not that because of TS or skype or whatever. I literally went over to my friends house today to hang out and I playd CMW at his house and i noticed how the sounds felt more crisp and more detailed. But no need to reply to this thread anymore! I reinstalled CMW and the sounds that I wanted and heard from everyone else's computer in terms of clinging and clanging and also there are new charge voices that i noticed, appeared in my game. I guess my game never wanted to update ;-; but yeah. Thanks anyway guys!
To Whom it may concern...
Maybe the easy answer is, you and your freind have different PC's maybe with different sound cards/device sound proccessor and the game selected different Audio settings when installed.
Here is what you should check:
Run the game and go into Configuration. Select AUDIO tab... check MAX CHANNELS and MAX SOUNDNODE (mine are Chan =64 and Node =18, these are the maximum performance values the game will set on install)... now compare to your freinds PC.
Also go to: C:\Users\pc name\Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Config and open the file named, UDKSystemSettings.ini ...in the first section named, [SystemSettings] ,scroll down to the bottom where you'll find, SoundMinCompressed= ... when you first install the game, the software polls your system hardware capabilities and loads a "Bucket" of settings. Bucket 1 is the minimum settings for slow PC's and that setting is, SoundMinCompressed=0 ... Bucket 5 (highend PC) is set to SoundMinCompressed=3. Compare this value to your freinds PC file.
Also, right click on your speaker volume adjust icon in system tray and select, Playback Device , double-click your sound device and select the advanced tab... what is your sample rate and bit depth in Default Format and is it the same as your freinds PC.
On a old or weak Potatoe, setting these sound variables higher may affect how well the game GfX performs and may lower your FPS a bit. Also, the actual sound system your hearing them from may give the impression of "Crisper" audio performance.
Yea I think that was the problem because I fixed it yesterday by deleting all the CMW files in my steam. So I first uninstalled it through steam by deleting local data. Then I went to steamapps>common then deleted the CMW file that was left there even after "deleting local data" through steam. So then I reinstalled it and voila, the high quality, crisp sfx that I once heard on my friends computer was now on mine. Also, these sounds came with more charging battlecries that i've never heard on my computer, but heard on my friend's computer. So ultimately, it was my game file that was being weird and never updated that stuff. Everything else was fine though. But thanks for the responses guys!
(in addition to the quality there is a setting that restricts the number of different voiceover/taunt variants that you will hear)
