Fast lunge attack
Hwo do you do this attack?

I see people jump forward really quick and do a 1 hit kill attack. Can't seem to do it myself.

Have you not played the tutorial?
Play the tutorial all the way through. Then play it again. Then one more time so that you get through it fast. This is crucial as you will learn skills and be able to practice a bit and get muscle memory being built for the basic commands.

I played through it once, but it bugs out when crossbow part starts, always got an R to reload in the middle of the screen so I can't read any other messages after that

so could you.....

The tutorial is a great way to learn the basics and how to. The tutorial has a great teaching method for teaching the sprint attack. I don't use the default key binds but there should be a command for "sprint attack" So in order to pull this attack you have to be sprinting for close to 7secs before the running animation changes slightly, a power or wind up so to speak. With swords, it raises the arms up and slightly behind. With pole arms the animation changes to look more like a charge.

When the animation changes, now you are in a state to do the sprint attack. Press the sprint attack button and it will do the lunge. With pole arms the attack is kind of useless in that it is a very hard to land stab, you are semi locked into that attack so that you cannot aim it after you have launched it and you are semi stunned for a bit after it is executed making you vulnerable, specially if you miss. It also uses a lot of stamina and usually is not worth using if you dont get a guaranty kill.

The same is true with swords accept it is a sweeping strike from right to left. Most players hate people who do this because of the radius of attack, you can easily take out your teammates as well specially when noobs do it in a crowded melee furball.

These attacks are easily parried and or avoided with footwork and upper level guys just punish the ♥♥♥♥ out of sprint attack users by stabbing then and stepping to the side while the sprint attack is happening and combo into an overhead during the stun phase.

Most upper level guys don't use it or use it sparingly and in MERCS mod it is completely removed.
