Maul
Im pretty good with the maul, but how do you defeat someone that stops every single overhead of yours by just kicking? It works every time, so its a free block. Isnt this overpowered?

It's not really a free block in that it still costs them stamina, but it does interrupt your attacks even when you're in release, so it doesn't allow you to hit-trade like you're used to.

Try strafing to make yourself harder to hit, or start your swing from further back; they won't be able to kick you as easily then.

Another option is switch to your secondary weapon.

In the current weapon balance, mauls are generally considered overpowered due to their high damage and the ability to hit-trade. Whether you realize it or not, these are the two qualities which have led you to choose the maul over other weapons.

No, i main my longsword/messer and dont go for hit trades with maul, only rainbows and ♥♥♥♥.

A free block at any moment seems pretty overpowered to me tho.
I often kick maul users, or stab their bellies during their ridiculously slow wind-up. One way to counteract this might be to feint your enemy and quickly parry their attack. You might also try kicking them and sneaking in your wind-up before they are finished being staggered. Or do as reithur says, reserve your secondary weapon for faster classes!

Feint, or combo by stabbing and then following up with a reversed overhead, works really well.

Congrats to the guy who can land a kick.

I often toy with maulers tbh. Killing them slowly really cuts the mustard tbh.
Why an earth your whining about a known overpowered weapon that relies on simply
using its abusive animation to land a hit is laughable. My aim is to ultimately finish
them of finally with a kick after draining them of stamina and side steping those
stupid out of syn swings they try at all kinds of fovs.
Apart from that other class its my pet utopia taking down a plebbypeonmauler.
I kicked them about like a tin can, some of the biggest troll ranked maulers
couldn't escape, after actually seeking me out undercover or aliased.
My advice to you is get a sword of war and be a real knight not relying on
some op weapon without animation started kill success behind it.

Don't always initiate with an overhead, slashes 2htk every class and are slightly faster, a slash and a stab should kill every class but knight. Also keep your secondary ready at all times, it's a good thing to switch between the weapons at times.

Im pretty sure the kick also works with the slash, or you gotta go for the faster one.

Though being limited to only the slash and the stab by something that anyone could do still seems a bit overpowered ...

It costs 25 stamina to perform a kick, you lose 10 stamina from getting kicked, you also got a maul which stams them out ezpz, just keep on bashing them.

The only douchebags are the players whining about 'op' weapons.
