Are there any other first person medieval combat games?
Obvious pick: War of The Roses.

Was of the roses is dead and dead for a great many reasons.

Mount and blade warband is another but it's more of a 3rd person Singleplayer game. It's multiplayer is almost dead and split between many mods.

Depends, if you mean a game like chivalry then only Deadliest warrior. For the rest there are literal no other games like it. People who say mordhau or kingdom deliverance, those are games that are in early development and proberly won't come out until a few years.

So I wouldn't really get hyped for those, hype for a game in very early development isn't that great, always will dissapoint you. Just medieval games then it depends again, if you want singleplayer or multiplayer. Mount and blade is a different combat system but is a great singleplayer game with lots of mods, but I won't suggest it if you want a multiplayer game.

Games like War of the Roses and war of the vikings are pretty much dead games, they have the same combat as mount and blade. So conclusion is, it really depends what type of game you want. If it's multiplayer then you will need to look to deadliest warrior or wait until a new one comes out, if it's for singleplayer I really suggest you picking up mount and blade. It also goes on sale a lot ^^.

You can play KC:D right now, as long as you can put up with an Alpha version.

Doesn't mean you need to get crazy hyped for it or can say it's a good game xd.

No but it does mean you can forge your own opinion by buying it and trying it out. Nobody was on about a hype, as you mentioned, not to be hyped because of games in early development won't be a full game. I was simply pointing out that the Alpha version of KC:D was already out.

War of the Roses is not like Chivalry, it is broken in many ways, is dead, and has lots of people who abuse weapons and armor.
You can run around in superlight armor, and hit someone over the head with a pitchfork; killing them instantly. I have 100 other things to rant about, so don't even get me started.

The next best thing is Warband :warplate1:

Yeah, I have alpha access as well, still waiting for that optimization. The game devs said they are working on adding a sword and shield as well as polearms.

Sounds fun, the siege gameplay footage that I've seen looks amazing. I could only imagine if a game like that goes to online gameplay with Faction v Faction battles, much like Chivalry. It would all but destroy any social life I yet grasp. A deserving end to it, if such a thing happens. ;p

It's a fluid combat system, not a QTE fest. It's worked around HEMA. Looks, if anything, more like a cross between Chivalry and M&B. At least, that's what I've seen.

Why would you come to the conclusion of QTE?

Watching and playing are different things ^^, I wonder how anyone would make a mix between directional combat and real time combat xd.

They are, but we are both talking about what we have seen, not had a hand in trying.

We both draw different conclusion and I am intrigued as to why his is different to my own, another way of seeing things is something I wouldn't like to miss, simple or not.

I have it. The combat system is farely difficult, as there are many aspects to fighting in the game. There is little room for slip-ups.
