Mount and blade warband is another but it's more of a 3rd person Singleplayer game. It's multiplayer is almost dead and split between many mods.
I beleive you can buy in to the Alpha right now.
So I wouldn't really get hyped for those, hype for a game in very early development isn't that great, always will dissapoint you. Just medieval games then it depends again, if you want singleplayer or multiplayer. Mount and blade is a different combat system but is a great singleplayer game with lots of mods, but I won't suggest it if you want a multiplayer game.
Games like War of the Roses and war of the vikings are pretty much dead games, they have the same combat as mount and blade. So conclusion is, it really depends what type of game you want. If it's multiplayer then you will need to look to deadliest warrior or wait until a new one comes out, if it's for singleplayer I really suggest you picking up mount and blade. It also goes on sale a lot ^^.
You can play KC:D right now, as long as you can put up with an Alpha version.
Doesn't mean you need to get crazy hyped for it or can say it's a good game xd.
You can run around in superlight armor, and hit someone over the head with a pitchfork; killing them instantly. I have 100 other things to rant about, so don't even get me started.
The next best thing is Warband
Why would you come to the conclusion of QTE?
Watching and playing are different things ^^, I wonder how anyone would make a mix between directional combat and real time combat xd.
We both draw different conclusion and I am intrigued as to why his is different to my own, another way of seeing things is something I wouldn't like to miss, simple or not.
