Its weak against knights only because of the annoying shields they bear, theyre speed severly limits thier ability to block or dodge.
Yeah, I agree for the most part I absolutely despise swingers, they lack skill and precision, just wave and wave and wave, hitting all theyre allies and missing every dodge, in extreme desperation for a pathetic kill. I hardly ever slash, usually thrust or overhead.
I think the main reason why I find it so effective is because of my extreme timing to block, if I dont say so myself, but I can imagine many other weapons to succeed using these tactics.
Definately. Also, its good to get up in thier face, sneak a kick and go in for a quick stab confusion 10/10 supreme.
Great vs maa.
Its range is pretty on par with knight weapons.
Personally when I am a vanguard I disregard swords altogether and bring a spear. My favorite of the spears being the fork.
The fork is considered a really bad weapon by most, but I find it is a really good weapon wiht lots of potential for good team support and keepaway with your range and speed combined on it.
Damage, range, and speed is higher than a claymore too. Only disadvantage being that since its a spear you cannot combo with it. The attacks ar fast enough that this doesnt matter imo, you can meet the speed of MAA weapons using it and its much longer
Honestly I have never really had a problem fighting a claymore user any more than any other weapon in the hands of someone that matches my skill level or exceeds it
Hmm, the fork, like you said is hated by most but it is definately within my top 5.
But very rarely have I seen a forker beat me with a claymore.
The claymore really does it for me.
The two other greatswords are a tad too slow for my taste.
The GS is a solid van weapon. Has very fast riposte overheads and reverses, has range, has power, and draggability. --> an all around superior choice IMO.
And we all like what we like, no matter the hours played.
If your newer to the game its a great idea to stick with one loadout and learn its strengths and weaknesses. I would caution against just staying with the claymore, for you are missing out on the otherside of the real time swing system. Picking a slightly slower sword (when you get bored) will give you an opportunity to practice dragging --> and get better at countering drags.
just my 2 cents.
It really doesnt tmatter what you choose as long as your having fun.
It seems you haven't tried Brandistock feinting.
