Why is the Falcata used by the spartans?
The Falcata was a pre-roman era Iberian and Italian sword, never used by the Spartan warriors apart from the occasional iberian mercenaries that may have been hired for spartas use. One thing we do know is that the Falcata wasnt even used by the spartans, fact, serch it up, why do they use it in Chivalry Deadliest Warrior? the vikings dont use foreign weapons, neither does the samurai or any other class as far as I know.

Cuz its the go to spartan secondary, almost every spartan uses it, save for me, I use the second one.
I think the spartans in the movie "300" used them, and therefore it's obviously historically accurate. Great movie btw
The movie 300 didn't use any real sword.

The kopis in the game is a Macedonian kopis. A short one the Spartans used. An actual kopis is falcata sized. They can't call it kopis again.

Also if you think hoplites in general wealthy African hoplites that Carthage had used the falcata. Except they had chainmail or a linothorax for armour.

Indeed it is, but it is based off of the TV series: Deadliest Warrior. This program had many faults that are disputable in respect to historical accuracy, but not one of the warriors mentioned or analyzed in the series were depicted to use the totally wrong weapon for their class/origin.

The developers giving the spartan warriors a falcata is like a viking using a gladius.... just does not make sense nor is historically accurate in any sense what so ever. This game actually contradicts the series for this action I beleive.
Tb wants money, not to make an historically accurate videogame.

The falcata and kopis are barely different. Similar shape same size. Only difference is he falcata was weighted at the tip while the kopis was balanced.

Again they can't call it the other kopis.
