Very low GPU usage 25%.. Why?
I got GTX 1080 and the GPU usage while in-game (this particular game) is only 25%.. Why is that and how to fix it please?

Edit: Forcing it to work on 32-bit through launcher dosen't seem to help at all. (I've been reading on some threads it helps).

It is because you're just wasting your bus in the card's memory, lol. This game only requires a good CPU. I suggest you play GTA 5 with max settings :)

If you are getting 60 fps then what's the problem?

The 'problem' is that I can probably get constent 120 fps on low settings - IF I get to use more GPU usage. On high settings i'm getting only 45-55 fps on heavy maps.

Make sure your drivers are up-to-date. If that doesn't help, try turn off all lighting and shadows. I hope you fix it.

your gpu tunes itself for how demanding the game is a 1080 is the best card on the market, so it can play it no problem, there fore 25% usage is normal being this game is outdated compared to new tech.
Forcing it to run in 32 bit mode would make it use even less of yur CPU since it adds on memory restrictions.

But yes. While anil's post was a troll post he's technically right. A 1080 is excessive in the context of this game. It's AMD equivelent is an RX fury. Above a 390X essentially. A 1080 isnt a gaming card it's an enthusiast card.

25% of your 1080 is about 100% of a 1060.

An Nvidia 8800 GT will run this game on max at 30FPS. That's a really old card almost 10 years old. So anything better than that will run it max at 60. All provided the CPU is good enough too Becuase yes that's what really matters in this game.

Anything above 60FPS in this game is extremely unstable. Not even a NASA computer could run it 100% smooth above 60FPS.

But what is your performance might I ask.

If your issue is trying to reach 120 fps, the game has a framerate cap of 60 fps; you must edit your UDKEngine.ini file to uncap it.

There's some instructions in this guide for how to uncap framerate;

As I wrote, On highest settings i'm getting 45-55 fps. Do you think it's normal? I don't :\ ...

Already done that, I didn't wrote about that :\ ..
It also may pay to monitor what your CPU is doing.

If you're at "max settings" reduce your ragdoll count to improve your framerate.

My CPU is not an issue. It's redicioules that the developers can't optimize the game.. only 25% usage of my graphics card is a shame. Big shame. And from some reason I still believe theres a work around to make it use more graphics power. =P

Have you tried running the game at 4k resolution or at 4k DSR? The reason I ask is because a higher resolution, especially 4k, shifts the bottleneck differential onto the GPU instead of the CPU, effectively putting more of the game's performance on the back of the GPU instead of the CPU. If your GPU is much more powerful than your CPU, a 4k resolution can actually give you a higher FPS than lower resolutions such as 1080p or even lower, due to the difference in the bottleneck differential at higher resolutions.

My screen is 144hz Full HD, Can't try 4k. Still, My cpu is strong enough (intel i7 3770k oc to 4.7Ghz). That's not the reason trust me. Also the graphics card I had before was GTX 670 and the GPU usage was something like 25-35%. That's defently the game causing this.
