well i cant say yes or no to your question but from what i found, the game devloppers tryed to take the best of all medieval combat games known today and put it into one game. i dont know if its the answer you where looking for but if you want to make an opinion for your self look around youtube and online reviews, there a lot of those

I would say its a spiritual successor, it does a lot of things right that Chivalry didn't, includes horse combat and some more interesting mechanics.

Some competitive Chivalry players decided to make their own medieval fighting game and fix the problems they perceived Chivalry to have - so it has no link to the original Chivalry developers, but the game itself has a lot of similarities.

It's a game where things are getting worked on, so no, it's nothing like chivalry

It's another game in the tiny medieval skill based melee game genre.

As mentioned before the developers were/are chivalry veterans.

The game is different, but skills you learn in chivalry translate over very well.

Drags/accels, parry timing, FTP, footwork, timing in general, feinting, reading, pressuring your opponent, etc etc. Things like that are a huge boon in Mord once you get used to the weapon releases and all the other junk.

It's been and still is extremely polished and playable since Alpha was opened. It's enjoyable, but it's still getting tweaks and all that, I would consider it as fun as Chiv, but it takes a bit more concentration than Chiv, and that's tiring when weapon release times and all sorts get changed every month or so. And when you're dueling like the same 10 or so chiv veterans.

Great game, buy it on release.
