Chivalry 2, Mordhau, and epic games exclusivity
With Chivalry 2 being announced, and Mordhau already out, what are your thoughts about this and the game being epic games store exclusive?

Chivalry 2 being announced is great news imo ! still, we can't really compare Chivalry with Mordhau, both are different. Mordhau has a good fighting system but Chivalry has lore with a story behind, Mordhau has better grafics but Chivalry has better team objective mode and is 7 years older.

We can't really compare the first game in its cathegory with a newer game inspired by it, it's like comparing Pong with a Tennis video game of today if you know what i mean. The real comparison with Mordhau will begin when Chivalry 2 will be released.

Chivalry does so many things better than Mordhau despite being 7 years older. Voice commands are more funny, but you can give pertinent battlefield info to your team -- behind you, push the objective, mind the archers, etc. TO is definitely more fun than Frontline. Frontline gets stale. With 1700+ hrs of Chiv I still enjoyed most of the maps (not coldfront).
kinda stupid how its gonna be on epic not gonna lie
It kind of feels like devs don't think they can compete with Mordhau so they decided to just not risk it and take exclusivity money.

That's really unlikely since the Epic deal would have been done a long time before the Mordhau launch. TBS needed to have the financing to work for 3 years or so to make Chiv 2, especially if they really wanted to make it a AAA version this time.

People keep saying they must be reacting to Mordhau, but Chiv 2 was planned years ago as the next title after Mirage, and its launch date is simply down to the time it takes to make a new game after the work ended on their last game.

Chivalry II looks better than Mordhau imho, because of:
-The objective based mission design, most of them being fun and hilarious
-The inclusion of cavalry

BUT, I refuse to support Epic's way of doing exclusivity, I feel that this kind of money hatting best stays on consoles, so at this point I'm way more likely to buy Mordhau.

relax buddy, there is no need to be so dramatic about this, we just need to wait 1 year, that's all. and since practically nobody will buy it on EGS it will be as if it was never released. + i'm sure once Chivalry 2 will be on steam it's going to be huge sucess.

People can s h i t-talk games but they always end up buying them. why ?
1 - they have nothing to do they are bored
2 - there is currently no good game
3 - they follow influencers like sheeps and are feed with footages of the game on youtube
4 - friends convinced them to play

I wish it was going to be on Steam so all the toxic players on Mordhau who came from Chiv 1 would flock to it on release lol
After reading about the greedy devs and such I am not to sure what ill do for the future, chiv 1 has issues they just left. I will wait a while after release beforei buy chiv 2 or mordhau. Ill buy the better rated one so to speak i think. I do not trust the devs for this game honestly.

you're right they left the game with some "issues", but tbh i'm not sure what kind of issues you're talking about, is it "drags" ? drags are part of the game just like mordhau. is it 360 ? 360 are something hard to limit for devs unless you want your fighting mechanic to look like skyrim. In mordhau you can almost do 360, you can do 180° and 3/4 of a 360° that's basicly the same.
Its disgusting to announce an epic exclusive on steam! Why not announce it there, where you JUST can play it? They lost against Mordhau. With Epic even more.
My thought process was as follows:

Before i knew Chiv2 was a thing and had just heard about Mordhau, ''Man that looks sweet , chivalry has been long due an upgrade but it's been so long. I am actually slightly hyped, which is rare''

Upon hearing Chiv2 was under development before I knew about the EGS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, ''Oh wow, looks like i'm going to be getting back into my first person hand to hand combat games!''

When I heard that chiv2 would be an EGS exclusive for a FULL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ YEAR, ''Huh, guess I'll just play Mordhau then''

And to be clear, no I will not be getting Chiv2 when it comes out on steam. ♥♥♥♥ EPIC and ♥♥♥♥ torn banner. They've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me around too many times and this is the last straw.

The more games released in this genre, the better. It will foster competition and push developers to make the best game possible. That said, I don't like the decision to be Epic store exclusive, but I can understand why TBS decided to go that route.
Yea I'm not going to touch EBS with a 10 foot pole, we'll see in 2021.
I am so, so glad you guys acquired the capital to pursue your 3 year development cycle.
See you in 2021.
