Worth it for PvE?

So while the game is on sale, would you folks say Chivalry in 2017 (2018 tommorow) is worth it for Botplay Only?

Can you unlock anything (or are items already unlocked) in bot mode? Can bots leave the spawn zone, engage the enemy, complete objectives? (I've heard they've actually gotten worse since release?) Also are all maps/modes available with bots?

I know it's only $4, but I have no interest in PvP, much less one with a dwindling population... if PvE is worthless that's still $4 I can spend on something else.

Not worth it for PvE at all. I'm biased to PvP as this is my favorite game of all time. 4 dollars really isn't that much and you could refund before the 2 hour mark...

If you have friends to play with and don't want to compete in public matches anything under 25 dollars would be worth it. It can be very funny and competitive.

People have been saying the population has been dwindling for years but honestly it's always been active as far as I can tell through the few years I've played. Player base spikes on sales and free weekends. It isn't a huge community compared to other titles but I've never had issues finding others to play with.

All that said its a very unique game. I've not played anything similar except for Mordhau and that is still in closed alpha.

Pve horde mode and FFA are probably the only "working" pve modes. Maybe tdm.

You cant unlock weapons in offline bot matches. However you can gain xp (and maybe unlock stuff?) in modded horde servers, which are really fun once you have a bit of experience. The bots aren't bad to learn against either

I've been getting alot of mixed responses, so I've decided to try it while it's still on sale and use the 2-hour return policy if I don't like it.
