Is vanguard op?

In most free for all games that i have played top 5 players are basically all vanguards.

I dont believe they are OP. Yes they have the best melee weapons but they have less armour than knight and less mobility than men at arms.

Not to forget they are the easiest target for archers to shot down.

well considering all marksmen always get vote-kicked , that weakness is well coverd and taken cared of ;P

The brandi isnt that great of a weapon, the feints aren't too hard to read and you don't have much variation in your attacks.

And on the original question. Vanguard accels at team battles but also when it comes to ffa theres no teams but no duels so you can use your long reach and good damage to do lots of work while being mobile enough to run out of many attacks. So not OP but could have slight advantages over other classes (then again it depends on the players, weapons and the classes everyone else has in the game..).

It was weeks since i was votekicked playing archer. Unless you are firing arrows in your allies exposed back you will be fine atleast in TO.

they are? thats new , last time i played an archer , vote kicks came left and right becose they could not get to me , sure i wasnt making all the killing blows but seems i was hard to kill enough to deserve a enemy team vote kick and sometimes allies sayd yes to the vote becose they didnt read the vote was for more then half of the time...><

maybe in lower levels but not once you get good at the game. knights and maa are the easiest for me.

It isn't so much that the Vanguard is OP, that the vanguard is easy to play and hard for the average player to counter.

In public games, the vanguard can rack up kills and points faster than any other class, because they have more mobility than a knight yet weapons which are just as able to 1 or 2 shot most enemies in the game.

This in turn is an excuse for "better" players to typically only play as vanguard, as they seem to love farming kills. So you get a lot of really good players using vanguard exclusively due to them being better against bad to medium skill players, which sadly make up most players. I don't consider myself to be great, only somewhat good, so seeing this is always disappointing.

Some ofc rage when you snipe them as archer, but if you have low team damage and havent behaved like a arse in the chat you should be 99% safe. Atleast in EU TO.

no, use knight and norse sword all vanguards. If its a hard fight i use my 1h longsword.
