Understanding the leveling system
I've really started playing the game a lot recently, and I've become fairly good. I've got just one problem - how does the leveling system work? It only ever lets me see my level when I'm in an actual game, and I can't check xp or anything like that it seems. Also, along with that I'll occasionaly get told I've leveled up even though I've already passed said level.

Is this levels for certain weapons, and if so, how do you follow that also? I never see any xp bar of any sort. Another quick question - is it possible to unlock different armor and weaponry without paying? Even after you unlock something, it seems as if you have to buy it with actual money.

Cheers

The only leveling system in place is Rank, which you see when you look at the scoreboard. All the armor and weapons that cost money are just aesthetic, they are just reskins of weapons or new skins for already existing armor. You don't have to pay for anything to have all the weapons in the game.

For some Weapons and Armor skins you don't need to pay for. You can get them by leveling/ranking up. or by joining the community page.

You can see your leveling progress at the end of the match, when the match XP are added to your current overall XP. That way you can see how far you are from reaching the next rank.

Thanks for the help everyone. So, if all that is just skins, how do I unlock actual weapons? I don't see anything that shows the difference between actual weapons and weapon skins.

So all the weapons in the customization menu, are they all purely just skins? And then all the ones in the character menu before the game starts, they're all actual weapons you can use?

To be completely honest. Some weapon skins are supposed to be just skins but are actually a weird way of pay2win since skin and hitbox of the original weapon dont fit each other for 100℅ anymore. This is especially the case for weapon skins that change the tip of the weapon and so it's sometimes shorter than the actual hitbox. Then again, the hitboxes are pretty bad in this game anyway so....

Yes, all the weapons in the customization menu are just skins; they don't offer any in-game bonuses.

A couple items USED to have this problem, but those were fixed.

If you're having trouble with hitboxes, this may be due to packetloss. Avoid playing using a wireless connection and join servers that you have <100 ping to; this should correct most hit registration issues for you (but can't solve those for other players with high packetloss/ping).
