I actually have fun in this campaign I am playing and the story is interesting, meanwhile I got bored by the second mission of the song of conquest game.
Song of conquest was fun to try all the different heroes and maps and various magic and a little bit of pvp but once you finish you realise the game is just not worth it. Your army will always come down to more or less same stacks because your lower unit stacks will generally be unsustainable in the long run. Anyway you can read my review of the game if you wish.
That's all just my opinion after all, but so far I think this game is much more richer and offers way more fun than the other one. This one is a bit of a unique charming little game with interesting lore meanwhile song of conquest get's a lot of it's success because it tries to resemble HOMM 3 so many fans of HOMM 3 like myself tried it, but I consider HOMM 3 to be superior despite the age gap lul.
So my vote goes to Songs Of Silence for game play, fun and variety so far.
Conquest is a HOMM game.
This person knows what they're talking about! A game that is still playable when drunk is ALWAYS a plus in my book!
I havent played Songs of Conquest for about 6 months. I like Songs of Silence better though so far but they are not the same type of game. They are similar but this one is real time combat where you prepare by setting up formations before and you can use combat spells and other things in battle.
Songs of Silence looks better also that is a huge plus although I wish sometimes during battle the units were like a fraction bigger so I could see more detail on them. I also wish the catapults were about twice the size for realism and also they could adjust their stats to make them stronger.
Conquest is very much the traditional HoMM game.
Honestly, I'd like to have a merge of both (silence art style, real time combat and simpler overworld map, but with conquest towns and control over unit in battle), but both are worth playing.
Simplest answer is to get whichever is cheapest now, and wait a few months for the other to go on heavy discount.
