Why was this worth 40+ bucks for you?
I've seen hours of gameplay. Seems like a nice and simple game. You make armies with simple recruitment system, position them on small grid, then smash abilities when they're ready.

I'd pay for this 10$ max, but it's like 4x less than a price. Am I missing something? Is there any menu or gimmicks that represents complexity and depth anywhere near to other strategy games with simmilar pricing?

Overall I really like how fast the combat is, in games like Ages of Wonders 4 or HoMM more than often you'd skip the combat entirely because how tiresome it is sometimes.

Each factions also obviously have different playstyle from eachother and there's also variety of small depth and strategy choices and I really like it. The game is kind of hard to explain and it's more than meets the eye.

tbh I'm very excite for what new faction they'd add post-launch as a DLC... though I hope they at least release 1 or 2 faction as a free update before actually milking it with DLC, Endless Legend's business model comes to mind.

This is what games in this genre cost as a result of their niche audience. In comparison I've found a lot of other games around this price point to be pretty shallow when it comes to giving you meaningful options, though I guess some people are truly dazzled by what you can do in any given Civilization game.

So does this offer more option than, say, Hero's Hour?

Most autobattlers being completely free though... Or costing some change money. You could go grand and make a beautiful autobattler and ask some more money, but not 40 bucks haha

its absolutley worth it in sight of 3 different fractions, each having different mechanics, skills and most important units. there are over 110 different untis to explore. FInding out which unit counter which will take many, many games. I played mechabellum, tft and other autobattlers and this one has by far the most units. PLUS MORE ARE COMING!

First game in years that I can enjoy playing. That's why I paid for it. Folks need to try the Demo first, assuming it is still available. I put a LOT of time into playing Skirmish on the Demo. I love the artwork and music. I think it's worth it.

To be honest I can't quite put my finger on it (also I haven't played for too long). However, while I was quite often looking forward to a game, the actual gameplay just wasn't fun for me. This probably has more to do with me than the games (maybe a bit the games ;-)) but for some reason this game brings back some of the old magic. It feels full of soul and I greatly appreciate that.

Instead of feeling like "Yeah, that was nice, time to do something useful," I have a genuine wish to continue playing.

For me personally I am always craving for games where I can command a lot of different fantasy units. And these in Songs of Silence look and play absolutely great.
Because of this I am willing to pay a higher price than I would pay for other games.

I've played a game just like this one years ago that had a Three Kingdoms setting. It was free and available on Google Play, but I can't remember the name.

Lots of whining about the price, its like everyone suddenly work the street and cant afford anything.

In its current EA form its too little content for the price but when it has all the campaigns and whatnot at release it will be worth it. Anyone thinking the price is too high should simply wait until release, its that simple.

Maybe one day entitled moron gamers will learn what early access means.

It wasnt. Got it for 18 bucks

haven't played it, but seen quite a few streams, it looks like it's missing a lot of progression elements and especially more customization/veterancy of units, more citybuilding too for it to really go from good concept to a great game. you are just not making enough decisions in the game and that's fine to have a simple game but you can't really expect people to pay this much for what is there now. it is early access though, so maybe in a year or so it'll be worth it!

Well I think the heroes and units are pretty diverse and you are able to upgrade some units to stronger ones. City building in this game is pretty mid I guess. You can upgrade your locations 2 times which is pretty linear and build one attachement there. Sadly you can not upgrade the attachment you build it just once and it brings bonuses. However you can change the attachement for another one but you have to stay close with your hero to do this thats why I mostly dont change them after I built one because you lose precious time when you have to move back again.
So yeah the heart of the game is building units and fight with the cards I guess. Sadly there is not so much to discover on the map besides location you can get.

So yeah 40 bucks is way to expensive. 30 bucks would be pretty ok. So people SHOULD wait for a sale.
