Whats the thing about light and dark side?

When I play a random game I can choose between light side, dark side and both sides. Whats the difference between these both sides? I didn't play the Kampagne. I tried but I don't even get the first mission done. :(

Those are lore related different worlds - you can read about the world in the Game Manual :)
The main difference is the Factions and locations that you can see there, once you set up a game - also the visuals are reaaaaally different :D

Try checking out both in the skirmish maps, maybe you even have a favourite one?

Alright, so they are "only" different for the looks but not gameplay wise is that right?
