Awesome! I cleared the game before the checkpoint buff and cleared lvls 1-5 while destroying checkpoints (lvl 6 is WIP) so I'll consider myself an OG gamer who did it "before the buffs". lol

Alright, it all seems to work. I just wanted to note that because the pop-up for the easy mode option only appears once the game resumes, I'd hope there's a brief control lockout before it lets you interact with it. That's just in case the player is ready to start pushing buttons after Volgarr resurrects and accidentally selects an option before they even realize there's a pop-up.

Thanks! I thought my game was bugged when I wasn't taking damage, and then I found myself disappointed that my progress had little to no stakes (though I was still dying to pits and drowning...) Anyways, I will glady play without undead mode and struggle to conquer this game
