Mountain 9 is soul crushing
I swear I've done everything to try and do this I've studied the AI, I looked at guides, I looked at videos of people easily doing this mission, I've even practiced fighting cultist in survival and practiced fighting master level enemies in duel to the point I can almost consistently get 1 out of 3 points per match yet I still can't get past this damn level nothing I do and nothing I try works! it's the same pattern of I try something and fall over dead the next frame I don't get it

Oh yeah, that ♥♥♥♥ was difficult when I first tried that, The way i beat that was legit by making them kill each other. If you want to get really good at dodging train yourself by going on the mode (last man standing) and put it on hell difficulty with 6 or 8 guys trying to kill you learn to telegraph three guys swing patterns back to back, they will read your inputs but that's the point it makes them more predictable. Once your dodging guys three steps ahead kinda and your can kill all 6 of them with out breaking a sweat you should have no problem dealing with them. Cause they with deal with each other. When there's one guy left. when you want to make sure your good at reacting to counters as well cause they do it more then the master does oddly. The last level kinda seems like they test you on how well you mastered the fundamentals but that fight was annoying cause it forces you to think outside of the box and get better to win. I did the same with the Oni brothers made the red one kill the better swordsman which was his brother then killed him cause he was more open. You will die a lot in the training but it feels so worth it to get learn how to get like 4 guys to kill each other and you haven't even begun to fight.

Once you learn to handle 4 or more type of ambushes the game gets really really easy. Sadly it takes a lot of time and deaths to get good at this game but its so satisfying.

I totally forgot to tell you. once Two of the guys have cut each other down the third should do the confused "How did he survive?" animation and should be open to getting cut without much problems.

What difficulty are you playing on? In NORMAL mode, the enemies in this level are already very close to the level of Master AI, and HELL mode is a completely Master-level difficulty. Considering that the enemies in this level cannot be defeated with a single attack, and you may face situations where you're surrounded and attacked from both sides, the difficulty of this level is actually comparable to winning a 3-0 or 5-0 victory in a duel against a Master-level opponent. To avoid getting stuck on HELL difficulty and above, you need to be at a level where you can consistently defeat Masters in duels.

When facing groups of enemies, you can make them kill each other by continuously dodging. For example, in Sunset-3 and Mountain-9, you can get through the level without swinging your weapon, but this method also requires a lot of practice. However, if you just want to clear the level, the simplest method is to exploit an AI loophole: lure the enemies into using mid-level attacks and then quickly crouch to perform a low-level counterattack. This technique can defeat all the enemies in the game (this video demonstrates the method: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1tB1WYNEkJ). However, using this loophole can become quite tedious and boring over time.

There is a guide somewhere on here about how to kill master level opponents in a duel situation. But that specific mountain level requires you to fight 3 guys at once. i would just focus on learning to dodge against multiple people. Also I think those guys get a charge dash boost cause i tried doing to bait counter and they come in insanely quicker than normal and can cover that distance and still get you. I don't like playing on the lower difficulties cause there not challenging enough. I swear games like this bring out peoples masochistic tendencies. Were just not happy until we have gotten good at it.

Just remember the 5 D's of dodge ball. DODGE, DUCK, DIP, DIVE, and DODGE! Except its with Swords.

In-fight, that's the only advice I have, back-step in-fight to get them to kill each other, once you get to the last guy you should be able to find an opening... *eventually*
