Help with Key Binding

So I tried to put the key binding on the movements to the arrow keys and upon entering them in the controls page broke (the arrows moved down the screen and off the screen entirely) and now my main menu has started to moving constantly without me even touching a single key. I cannot even get back into the controls to actually change it again. It's like playing roulette to even get to controls.
I cannot use WASD and now I can't even go into the controls and re-bind to fix the main menu.

Happened to me too. So annoying.

For custom key binding in any game and windows itself use autohotkey.

Especially if you can't bind keys ingame or if it (like in this case) doesn't work.

http://www.autohotkey.com/

make a empty.txt file and name it whatever.ahk

Now edit it and bind your keys.

Here is mine for example:

left::a
right::d
up::w
down::s

e::space
RControl::RShift

The :: means something like "activate". If I press "left" for the above script it activates "a".

It's freeware and the best tool I use in some many games.

You can even enable and disable it in the background with a key combination.

Example J::suspend.

Yeah it doesn't but it helps in many other games and it is a very uselful tool that can save you some headache.

Nobody knows how to fix this? Re-installing game doesn't help. Even I manage to get into the game I can no longer move my character.

If I remember correctly the arrow keys aren't currently supported, but there's plans in the works to fix that.

Is there any way of fixing it than if you have bound it to the arrow keys?

Problem is I can't even reverse it to WSAD and now the highlighted menu on the main page keeps spinning down as if I continually hold down button at the arrow key. This is totally game breaking

go to your game folder in steam and delete keyboard.dat

I had the same problem, easy to fix.

yeah, sorry about that... arrowkeys are bugged right now! fixing that for next update! again, sorry we overlooked that

I have the same problem and to be honest I am slowly starting to get annoyed with all the bugs that I keep running into. Not a good sign...

if you update a game with editing keys options atleast do it correct , seriously pisses ppl off

anyway tx for the alternative key setting..what a buggy game this is...

also th0 k0y binding software dont work either did the script thing still scrolls around the menu this game is so broken...good job developers..not..


also make thwe arrow keys work PLEASE im left handed and this game is unplayable for left handers...sigh no gamepad support, this is one of the games thats screams for a gamepad.. :(

Frustrated left hand gamer here as well. :(

- On day one I couldn't even run the game. Then they removed Steam support and I finally managed to see the menu.

- I first decided to buy the game because the developers said in Twitch.tv they had 360 controller support. But they removed it hours after launch.

- Then I tried remapping the keys but that option was nowhere to be found.

- Then I tried Autohotkey (which works wonders for Torchlight 2) and it doesn't work with Miami Hotline for some bizarre reason. It changes keys for desktop but when I run the game it does nothing.

- Then they finally patched "remapping controls"... so I mapped the arrow keys... and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game because the arrows are not supported.

I've been trying to play this game for 4 days now...
I'm sure it's awesome and all... and I realize it's only a 2 man team... but I give up for now.

Going on a business trip for two weeks. Hopefully it'll be a working game when I come back.
