Different Languages?

When I pre-ordered the game on steam, it said, that it would be english. Now it's german and i can't even switch the languages!?

Is there still a way to do so?

As with most games on Steam: Close the game, right click the game's entry and pick "Properties". Go to the "Language" tab and pick the language of your choice (entries might be named differently based on your locale). The game will patch some files and you should be ready to go.

The default preload language is always the language of your Steam client, in your case probably "German". My client is set to "English" and my preload is in English as well (despite being from Germany).

El Español del juego es Español de España, que por cierto no sé de donde has sacado que el Español de España es "internacional" (solo se usa en España) mientras el Latino se usa en muchos país en América, yo diría que ese es más internacional ;) Pero no te preocupes que el Español Europeo es el más usado para la traducción de juegos, por ello este juego también lo utiliza.

Gracias por la respuesta. Lo del "español internacional" tiene más lógica como tú lo panteas (y yo así veía hace unos años), pero es como se ha venido conociendo desde fuera al "español de España" (el castellano, para ser más exactos). Éste aparece como "español internacional" en las opciones de idioma de muchísimos programas informáticos cuando los instalas. Por ejemplo en cualquier sistema operativo Windows (...95, XP, Vista...). En fin, de toda la vida lo han llamado así en Microsoft (este ejemplo) y en innumerables empresas del sector y sitios web.

Tampoco podemos decir que el español latino es interncional, ya que no es lo mismo el español argentino que el español mejicano o el español peruano o el que se habla en Paragüay. Así que si a uno lo llamásemos "internacional", entiendo por qué eligieron al castellano hablado en España, que es el original y el canónico. Supongo que lo han llamado "internacional" porque es el español que se ha extendido a otras naciones y el que estudiaría cualquier extranjero si quiere aprender nuestro idioma, igual que nosotros aprenderíamos el italiano "internacional" a pesar de que en Italia no hablan el mismo italiano en Nápoles que en Florencia, ni en Florencia el mismo que en otras regiones de Italia hasta el punto de que incluso les cuesta entenderse entre ellos (así lo tengo entendido).

Perdona por el ladrillo, pero he compartido tu inquietud muchos años hasta que llegué a estas conclusiones y las quería compartir contigo :)

Same issue. Not sure what language actually, but not English. I've been typing away since thye vic 20. This isn't my problem, but I did pay for the game. Is there a solution or what?

Oh god. My Windows locale is English (United Kingdom). My keyboard is United Kingdom Extended. My Steam client language is English. Scribblenauts language is English.

The Scribblenauts in-game keyboard and language however, are German.

The in-game VKB is purely for inserting special characters. It will not have regular Latin letters. That is by design. The thought goes that you don't have a touchscreen, and a keyboard is faster than clicking on buttons for text input, so there isn't any reason to use an on screen keyboard except when your keyboard can't input some characters.

when I right click on Properties, for the Scribblenauts main program, there is NO Language Tab for me to change to English. The keyboard layout in the game is in Russian (or at least the weird charcaters on the keyboard look Russian), and I see no way to change it to play this game .. ANY HELP ???

Is your game interface in English? (i.e. Do the menus have English words?) The on screen keyboard is not designed to be a replacement for your hardware keyboard. It is only used for inputting special characters.

So, my steam client, and computer, and everything is all set to english. But when i am in game and open the notepad, the keyboard presented to me is some other language (german i think, but im not sure). I have tried following the instructions from this post as well as changing the language to something else, and then back to english, but it still doesnt work. Any other suggestions?
