Initiative?
Are there any tricks or tips on how to increase initiative? I have been pushing my perception up when I can because this is usually attached to initiative but I'm not seeing any results.

Agility is the stat that increases initiative, if I remember correctly.

Really? No, your joking. Your not joking are you? OMG I have been doing it all wrong. Darn, I am going to have to respec my entire team. Thanks for putting me straight.
Game say agility. A few people have said on testing it is perception.

I just use cassia as a grand strategist to skip initiative

Check the in-game encyclopedia. Corpus Valancius -> Tutorials -> Initiative.

Initiative depends on Agility as mentioned, but it is not as simple as "the character with highest agility moves first".

From experience i can say that the order my characters move in is more or less random. Argenta is my highest agility character, and whether she will move before Pasqal or after him is mostly a toss-up. However this could be caused by me only playing with 4 characters, so they are often tossed into the same "initiative group" (check the encyclopedia.)

It's random, it just makes it more likely for that on to have his turn earlier. The only thing that gives a guarantee is this initiative trinket.
There is also no way to choose which grand strategist or commando chrono user goes first. Some people have said it is based on portrait order but that has as much merit as big foot

Beginning last year chrono which was going first, had given that Ulfar and every battle he was the first to move, could have been just a coincidence.

Perception to Imitative would be Cassia with the Talent that makes that stat work off Perception instead of Agility. In terms of general 40k RPG rules there is a talent in DH2 that lets you use Int instead of Agility and roll two dice & pick best (it generally lets my Interrogator go first) but that is the exceptions to the Agility is Initiative that i know of

Yeah, no matter what Cassia always goes first. What has she got that the other lack?
Mind you her going first is excellent. You can organise the battlefield with her alone. I never leave Cassia behind, she is my key soldier on the ground.

You say "organize the battlefield". Is your Cassia a grand strategist, by chance? If so, that's the reason she moves first - it's a feature of the grand strategist archetype.

Good idea. I will make everyone into a grand strategist.

That would make your party very weak. If you already have one just look at the initiative order then use bring it down to kill next in line for the initiative so your party can steam roll

I have had lots of strangeness in initiative, people with high agl going last or all of my group tends to go last (besides Cassia) even though they have superior Agl to the enemies.

I might have time in the future to run a test with toybox and pump up everyone's agl by +100 to see what my init scores look like.

Agility bonus + Perception Bonus /2 +1d10 ~ having a higher combination will generally get you up higher but not guaranteed because you can always roll a one and the OpFor a 10

I will try and see if that works.
