I'm now on the game pass...
Am I right in thinking this a big screw you to all of those Owlcat fans that actual bought their game. Please, enlighten me if I'm wrong, I want to be wrong.

I think I read somewhere on this very forum that Game Pass tends to be a few versions behind??? I'd still rather buy the game itself than use what I think is a subscription-based service...
I tried looking for the gamepass build ID but I can't seem to find it, I guess I'd have to download it to find out but that's quite far from the point anyway. I spent money on this game, a lot more than it would have cost me on the gamepass. It's like I bought the beta version and waited through the updates for them to turn round and essentially give out the alpha version for a £1, it's just a slap in the face really.
It gives more people a chance to try the game out, how is that a screw you to Owlcat fans? More people playing the game is a good thing. I bought gamepass one time to try out Lies of P, just to see how good it was. I ended up beating it on gamepass then buying it at full price on steam anyways.

They're not trying out the game, they get to play it, that's quite the difference. And how isn't it? The game has been out for little over a year and for all those that bought it at full price for it to then basically get given away is quite frankly insulting. How is more people playing it going to get my money back? It may be a good thing for owlcat but it isn't for those that payed full price for a game that they could have waited for. Why not just release it on gamepass as a day 1 release, why couldn't they have done that? Why wait a year to then release it on there? If they wanted people to "try" their game a demo could have achieved that.

Why do you feel entitled to to get your money back just because it was released on gamepass? I know that eventually after release a game will go on sale for far cheaper than what it launched at every single time. At the time of purchase you did not see a problem with the price why now?

The gamepass build is outdated sorry.

+ Devs are entitled to get that bag. Microsoft pays way more than you for games to be on gamepass. You paid around 55 dollars, Microsoft paid millions or a bit less.

Is the DLC also available on Game Pass?

If not, having it out there to be easily played could be a nice way to boost sales on the DLC and season pass.

They've hit 1 million copies. Now is time to ensure the long tail of profitable DLC and season pass purchases, so they're priming the pump with being on Game Pass.

For what it is worth, I only ever tried Owlcat's Pathfinder games because one of them was included in a Humble Monthly Bundle. It's what led to me purchasing this game despite not having too much background knowledge on the setting. And, oh my goodness, is there a lot to learn of the setting.

Pretty sure theres two gamepass plans, Theres one at about 10usd without dlc's, and theres one at 20+usd with dlc's. Thats usually how it works.

"Hello, I bought this laptop last year for $1000. I see today it is on sale for $800, I would like my $200 refund or you'll hear from my lawyer."

the game went on 40% sale recently, do you expect the devs to refund you the 40% extra you paid? of course not because that is stupid.

you paid for the game because you thought it was worth the price, then didn't steam refund it before playing your fill, you don't to complain that the game is available cheaply now a year after release.

I paid 20 for the full game and season pass. Can play it whenever and have been for over a year.

Dont you pay 20 a month on game pass and could lose the game at anytime?

Pretty sure it is fine.

I was more then happy to pay full price for release on PS5 and just rebought it on PC.
Here is my take guys. I started playing this on Gamepass a couple of weeks back and din't know this master piece existed( Some how I never saw this coming last year)
The gamepass version has it's own advantaged and disadvantages.

-Advantages
1. Ofcourse it's included in your gamespass
2. Save is synced across Xbox console and PC. useful if you own a console.

-Disadvantages
1. Have to deal with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ xbox game launcher
2. For a CRPG like this where you save scum, after 70 hours I started seeing a message disk space full. This is probably due to the cloud storage for xbox. locally deleting or backing the saves donot work. so only way is delete your saves and forget correcting/replaying your mistakes with an older save
3. Game pass does not give DLC. Steam version with DLC is way cheaper.
4. Moving saves from XBOX to Steam or vice-versa is a nightmare
5. The Game can leave gamepass anytime
