For some reason its a new mode to deploy patches before patchlogs nowadays. Its not just Owlcat thing.

Because you need to update a specific archive with that shovel in it. That's just how Steam updates things.

Change a line of code in an archive file... you now need the new version of the archive, not just the single changed file inside it.

No I can't. It was full of heretics and got taken over by xenos, so I had Abelard nuke it.

The Darktide announcement says something different.

"Players can claim this fearsome tool in Act I at the Upperway location. Those further along in the game can claim the item from their chest."

I'm already on Chapter 4, but there's nothing in my chest.
