True be told Im one of these who HATED the chapter 3 and what direction it took and even though I finish it I was so burnout and disapointed by this chapter I simply deleted the whole save and shelved the game for some time.

After that I restart the game multiple times trying difftent builds, story paths etc but when I approach chapter 3 I quit it.

I hope that Owlcat will do something with chapter 3 in the future to be more beareable or create a bypass or something, heck I would buy a DLC that would take me into diffrent route in chapter 3 that whatever it is now in game.

optimization starts losing its mind during and after act 3

Game isn't entertaining enough to play longer?
Two things kill Owlcat games for me mid-session. The general character/combat systems (i've got a big dislike for class based systems and buff/debuff orgies), some stumbling around in the story arcs and mostly the general campaign mechanics they include. And also that besides bug i'm also often start to realise those games haven't got enough replayability to me, to replay them when the DLCs are out, so i just drop it and wait for the DLCs, to never again pick them up either way.
So a lot of very subjective stuff for me.
Still love Owlcat for what they do though and will buy titles from them ;)

I think people just don't have the patience for long RPGs anymore. That being said, 25% is a lot higher than the cheevo I just got which was for finally completing a long victory Immortal Empires Greenskins campaign in TWW3, which I share with only 2.0% of other players.

It was incredibly buggy and broken on release. It took months to become stable enough to play.

I imagine most that bought the game in the first 6 months have not come back to this game yet,

The rare few of us that had no issues compared to the vast numbers that did, did little to help people stay engaged in the game.

For me, the game fell off a cliff in Act 3. Bc essentially it's a whole new game, not what you've been working towards since the start.

I know that's not universal, but it might be a contributing factor for others as well.

I eventually dragged myself through the rest of the Act and was happy when it ended.

It's my least favourite part of every subsequent playthrough.

I don't play games to finish them. I play games to escape reality. Games are basically drugs without the side effects. I've got hundreds of hours in Subnautica, only beat it twice even though you can cruise through it in a day easily. I have more hours in Sims 4 than any other game. I even hesitated to get RT precisely because I knew it was essentially on rails with little room for me to do my own thing. Can't say for sure I'll ever finish the game.

You ask the question like it's a bad thing, but it's not necessarily true. I put over 200 hours into both Pathfinders without finishing either, and still thoroughly enjoyed them and plan to replay both again.

Over 100 hours into RT - had a blast of a time even without progressing very far into the game, and it was still worth every cent and every minute of my time.

You don't have to finish the game to enjoy it.

Not what I am saying, Im talking about how quick it is to finish chapter 3 yet only 25% players have done so. I'm not talking about completing the entire game.

Fairly certain someone's pointed this out already, but when the game launched it was in a very bad state and Act 3 was hell.

It was enough to turn away a significant number.

Let's not forget the game was on sale recently, and it takes a lot of gaming hours to get there. I have 41 hours and have just reached Janus. Reaching the end of chapter 2 seems still pretty far away right now, let alone chapter 3.
My point being, I suppose there is a fair amount of buyers who just haven't had the time to get there yet.

Not to mention a bug set your game back for 10 hours.

(which could been a week long play time).

Make me want to quit multiple times.

ive only been playing since the skulls sale recently but this game is very dense. There's tons of reading with little voice acting to just listen to instead, skill trees require alot of branches to find out what everything means. Its really fun of course, but CRPGs take time and some people might get turned off from it all.

To be fair, I barely forced myself to finish the game. First two acts are great IMO, but then the story takes a massive nosedive in the Act 3, some major bugs start to appear - which gets only worse in Act 4 and 5. Besides, Act 3 boss is one of the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and unfair fights I've seen in cRPGs in a long while. And I've played D:OS on tactician and Underrail on hard. So yeah, I can totally see why people are quitting this game so early.

Just wanted to throw in some thoughts. I've just got to Chapter 3 and it feels like a massive, massive mis-step. Immediately prior to it, I had really solid builds, was well geared and enjoyed Chapter 2 immensely. Possibly a bit too easy by the end, but the story was decent and I loved the mix of systems (space combat, picking projects, trading for gear, etc.). Appearance of the LHI and being held to account for my decisions was very cool!

Now I'm in Chapter 3 and despite spotting the upcoming 'betrayal' a mile away, I was unable to do anything about it as far as I can make out. I now have zero gear, no access to trading or space combat, horrendous debuffs etc. and fully expect to have to try and remember how everyone was geared, rather than have the game sort it out for me.

The 'get taken prisoner and lose all your stuff' is an over-used trope in games for the most part, but the modern ones that employ it generally get that its incredibly annoying and it only lasts a short time (see BG3 etc.). But no, I've been wading through Chapter 3 for at least an hour or two now and seriously contemplating abandoning the game here. Which is a shame, because Chapter 2 especially was tremendous fun. Can anyone convince me its worth continuing? The description of the boss fight and the increasing level of buginess is not exactly enticing me...
