How Do You Get Psychic Awakening?

Finally made it to Exemplar status and noticed it's possible for characters to become Unsanctions Psykers.

But the requirement for doing so is to have a Psy Rating of 0, and have any of the origins besides Sanctioned Psyker.

Problem is, I did not see an option to take Psy Rating 0 during any of my previous level ups, and it's still not appearing with new ones. So how do I unlock this talent?

Also, despite having the non Psyker origins, the option still seems to be RED out for everyone in my retinue.

Its the Exemplar Psyker talent "Psychic Awakening" for each school or whatever

I think it's bugged, and the actual conditions should be NOT to have psy rating 0 and all those origins (because the list is not all origins, it's all origins of the NPCs, so the talent looks like it's supposed to be usable only by the main character if he wasn't a psyker).

Did some further investigation and it sounds like the Psychic Awakening talent is bugged at the moment. Either the option is locked off for people despite having fulfilled the requirements, or the talent does not register properly after they unlock it. Such as the case of someone not being able to equip staff weaponry.

This is frustrating, as I was looking forward to turning the SoB, or the Drukhari into a psyker, just for laughs.

Afaik the only way to get Psy Rating 0 is by being a Sanctioned Psyker. And not to invest into Psy Rating X talents.

But then again, that particular origin seems utterly incompatible with the Psychic Awakening talents. Like, where is the logic of a Sanctioned Psyker suddenly becoming an UNsanctioned Psyker?

Easiest fix would be to get all non-Psyker origins a Psy Rating 0. And the Sanctioned Psyker a starting Psy Rating of 1. Since I imagine that was the original intent of walling Psychic Awakened behind the tag in the first place.

I checked it with Toybox, i just gave myselff Psychic Awakening Biomancy which then immediately gave me Psy Rating 0, so I gave myself the Psy Rating 1 talent and voilá

So its not bugged but the Psychic Awakening gives you Psy 0 and the description is wrong

Dunno, I took Psy Bio Awakening and it worked got rating feat too so psi 2 for that WARP speed.

I was able to take the Talent with no issue, and it grants Psy Rating 0 for free.

I'm guessing you're trying to pick it up on someone who isn't the Rogue Trader? The talent blocks all companions from taking it near as I can tell. Thats what that long list of qualifiers is. Even Abelard must have a custom version of Navy Officer that isn't the same as the player version. Since my naval player could take it.

Its not a typo. Its saying that anyone who currently has a Psy Rating (or is from any of the listed backgrounds) can't select the talent.

For example if you are a sanctioned psyker or have already taken a psychic awakening talent, you would be uneligible to choose it.

It lists every companion origin. Not the player origins. Like I said two posts ago, Abelard must have a copy of the Naval Officer origin. The other player origins aren't there.

Either way it doesn't matter. The block appears green to the player character at level 36 if they aren't already a Psyker. Which means you can take it. Your companions can't.
