Where are all the sword pieces?
Alright, I'm scared I may have missed out on being able to complete the sword, because guides are saying that the piece Kunrad stabs you with at the very start of the game is one such shard. However, since I did not resist him, he did not stab me with it. Which is stupid, because if you actually WANTED to go Heretic route, you'd think trying to join the traitor would be the first step!

I'm trying to find information on where all the shard pieces are, but guides so far are of no help. The one from Nature Hero was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless, and I didn't get an extra shard from the machinery planet, even though I think I was supposed to.

The shard should be on the chaos spawn boss at the end of the prologue.

Alright, if it's just the blade and the hilt, then I got both of those. The guides I was looking up made it sound like there were somewhere between 3 to 5 pieces in total.

The third piece isn't exactly an collectible item. You will encounter "it" during a main quest in chapter 4. At that time you also get the chance to have the sword restored to its former glory.

I'm getting very close to Votary status for Heretic. I also think I'm about to enter Chapter 3, since I completed my 3 main planets.

In prologue, the item is in the loot not on the dead body of the abomination boss, but rather in the spot where it spawned. Hold [tab] to see it highlighted.

Yeah and as a side note, it's better not to loot the sword shard in prologue actually (just the other loot on his body), because you get an extra event at the start of Chapter 1 where you're presented with the shard and your decision gives you extra conviction shifts.

It also gives an extra Iconoclast conviction shift I believe telling the NPC to hold on to it and give it to the inquisition later, which doesn't occur if you pick it up normally and wait for the usual corruption events around the Shard later in Chapter 1. It's the safest and most rewarding way to hand over the Shard and a less/no corruption path going forward.

I'm assuming the OP wants a corruption path, and even on that path it's still better not to loot in prologue and get the same event but choose a heretical choice there for a shift that way (can't remember if there is one though).

Yeah, I always try the evil route first, when presented with the option.

My only complaint about it is that you're falling in with Tzeentch. the Chaos God who is by far the most likely to screw you over.

I'd have preferred Slaanesh, myself. Yeah, he'll probably screw me over, but at least he'll make it fun!
