I think it'd be interesting to go against Lucifer in a sequel, perhaps when he's older. Teenagers rebel against their parents, so imagine what a more powerful Lucius could do against Lucifer. You could give players the choice, through doing 'good' actions and 'bad' ones during the game.
As for the ending, it could be explained a little better. Lucius leaves the house and simply looks at McGuffin, it felt a little empty. A little more narrative could help there :)
That said, I don't care about how the ending is played out, so long as there is more story to the ending. It was just so incredibly disappointing to see Lucius walk out the door to the credits and that's it... You were in a flaming house and Lucifer didn't even show up? Seemed like the perfect opportunity for him to have some kind of speech or to help make the Dad kill so much more epic (dragging him into Hell or something). It was all just extremely anti-climactic.
Rest of the game was fun. Just work on that ending ;).
Macguffin was kind of an idiot and the narrations actually make him sound somewhat intelligent but it clashes with his character in the actual game, I would of much rather an ending where the priests come in and you have to distract them somehow as they try to talk to you to kill them in the usual way rather then hadouken spamming.
Also in terms of the action oriented bit, maybe make the priests a little less overpowered, I had to do that section like 20 times cause I kept getting stuck at poor camera angles and the fact that they seemed to get up instantly after being fireballed, I fireballed one, tried to run past him but he suddenly snapped right up and then killed me, I don't know what you guys were thinking when you made this ending it does not fit with the game at all.
Also it would be cool by adding 'sandbox mode', so those who wants to go killing spree/see how many kills you can do before getting caught or experimenting with different ways to kill people.
Make something epic or inteligent, bring lucifer at the end or/and make lucius fight with all is power, not only shooting fireball at priest.
Making the ending more of a think game instead of killing the priests through poor aiming, and weird camera angle when you start would definitely appeal to me, but i don't see it working with the storyline.
As for any changes to be made, or content added to, the current title... well, having not played it yet, I can't really say much. I can say that I would hope that the game does deliver an "experience", inasmuch as I would really get the sense of stepping into Damien/Lucius' demoniacal persona. The idea of alternate endings is a pretty decent one, if it is handled well. After all, a pretty decent nod to the source material would be to have Lucius be able to subtly influence McGuffin in such a way that he shoots and kills the father at the moment the father is ready to deal Lucius the fatal blow, just as in the film. In this way, all suspicion is removed from Lucius, as it makes the dad look like a deranged killer, and the likely suspect for the other murders. In a way, it's the most sensible ending. This ending should only be possible if the player does certain actions, such as leaving "evidence" against dad, over the course of the game that arouses McGuffin's suspicions against the father, so that he ends up interceding at the end of the game. This ending, naturally, should have Lucius being left in the care of a powerful person, such as The President, a Prime Minister, a Senator, or something of that nature. This is just my $0.02. I don't really know if that would be stepping over a boundary between homage, and blatant plagiarism.
EDIT: An even more important idea! PLEASE put up a demo of the game! I'll probably end up buying this game just from a love of the concept alone, but I have a bit of difficulty spending my money on a game if I can't try it out first!
