There is no "thinking" about it. We already know why.

Plus:
Hector knew the gang before Payday 2 because he's the one who bought the First World Bank secret vault gold
At that point, the question becomes "why WOULDN'T he betray the crew". Because, really, what does he have to lose, other than his life to them. (and he's the one with the superiority complex.)
It's really because FBI nabbed him and it was either snitch or go to prison. Though someone did suggest a cute theory as to how Hector knew about us even before the events of Payday 2.
Remember those junkies we hit in Panic room?
To be honest it'd make more sense if they were with Hector, as they were colombians apparently. Though I guess we'll never know
Which is kinda sad, since I'd love to hear more about this crazy universe. But judging from what's going on the Hoxton saga's the closet we'll get to any major development, and even then that was pretty lackluster.
What a thrill.
Plus the Rat was most likely already planned to double cross the crew The spectacular run of bad luck Bain mentions in the introduction of a Hector job
Even though he wasn't close to the gang, he wouldn't have had the information and other silly things like it makes no sense with the previously established "story" (for example that according to the web series which introduced him he had no direct contact with Bain between Overdrill in the first game and his PD2 heists yet had enough "information" to sell out the gang he'd never met or had contact with to the FBI... I guess he told them they wore clown masks and suits)
After he was arrested, he struck a deal with the FBI, so he would be able to maintain his leadership position, which he is to be the next leader of the Sinloan Cartel.
Which makes absolutely zero sense. He never met them or Bain ever, so how was he able to sell them out to the FBI when he wasn't ever someone "close" to them? He wouldn't logically have anything to give them at least enough to get them caught, he wasn't best friends with Hoxton.
