Can the host leave the game without ending it?
I was hosting a heist (Overkill Train Heist if it's important), and we were twenty minutes in, and something came up that I had to do. I wanted to quit to free up the slot for someone else, but I wasn't sure if it would end the game. The Team was able to pull it off at the 45 minute mark, and I felt like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because I sat there doing nothing for 15 minutes.

TL;DR can the host leave the game and not have the game end for everyone else? And if not, why is that not a thing? You think it would be pretty handy for just in case the host has to do something or he gets disconnected from the internet.

Well, that sucks. It kind of makes you feel stuck between a rock and a hard place:
Leave during the middle of a heist, ending it for everyone and feel/ be a ♥♥♥♥.
Or stay and be useless, feeling/being a ♥♥♥♥.

That's life. No host migration. The netcode is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough that it would just ruin everybody's day if they implemented that

Yeah, but usually someone outside of your car doesn't tell you to do something that causes the need for you to leave your car...
I don't think car pooling and games go with your analogy well.

I'm P sure police can tell you to leave your car.

Look at this way: it's a videogame. Any frustrations from you or other players, caused by either yourself or other players, are only momentary, and they'll likely forget of any incident within no time.

I'd personally put IRL first, game second. I have no problem quitting in the midst of a heist since I don't feel any strong attachment; it's merely a game, not a job.

Yeah, I feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥ doing this.

To answer your question, no. You cannot.

If only they'd add host migrate, this and kicking wouldn't be a problem ever.

I dont know what kinds of cars you have in your country, but where I live cars are designed so that the driver can exit the car and one of the passengers can enter the driving seat and continue. The new driver dont even have to start the trip from the beginning, he can continue with the progress the last driver had...

Basically, think of a lobby like a human reverse pyramid. The host is the guy at the bottom. If he leaves, it's bye bye pyramid.
