Can C4 Blow Up the Bank Vault?

I have the ability to applied shaped charged (c4), but the bank vault didn't show a c4 placement icon. Can bank vaults not be blown up with c4, or do they always need to be drilled? I can blow up doors and safes with no trouble so I know I'm using the skill correctly.

Any tips are appreciated!!

Secured doors: 3
Small safe: 1
Large safe: 4
Walkways on day 2 of Hoxton Breakout: 2
Trucks on day 1 of Firestarter: 1

Would take a lot more C4 than the 6 blocks you carry to blow open a vault... Maybe 24 from 4 Techs together could start being able to do anything to the vault door.

And before someone decides to suggest blowing up the metal walls, do remember that the door is the weakest point of the vault.

metal door are less thick than vaults
thats why they get blowen by c4

As per Bain, they don't know about the live ammo the train is carrying. Presumably, we don't do so to avoid detonating the artillery shells inside. Granted, cop explosives don't do so either, but considering players have no means to prevent that it makes sense your heist wouldn't end with everyone dead over something you can't really prevent.

Why not mention Big Bank itself? We need so much trouble to open the door to the inner part of the bank, yet the cops simply plant ONE C4 on the floor below the door (assuming you had the upper floor doors) to blow their way in.

Talk about the Commisar outsmarting you again. Even the cops do that!
