Drum mags
Okay,so Overkill figured out how to implement drum mags on weapons with regular mags (AA-12 from the BBQ dlc)

Now,sorry for the entitlement, but I PRETEND that now the cut drum mags, that are available in the game folder since the release, are given as free dlc

Maybe, maybe not.

Lots of weapons could benefit from being able to have different magazines, I am looking forward to what Overkill does with this.

I'm pretty sure they did it with the AA-12 (The Steakout) because they could have the same reload animations considering an AA-12's mag is like a fat stick, but hey, hopefully I'm way wrong.

That's assuming they actually figured out how to change the animations. Personally I think it's far more likely that they've just used an animation that convinently hides the clipping with the different models.

Still, given some of the other things Ovk have come up with lately (the bayonet, proper car driving) it's possible they've figured out a way around the engine's limitations.

Personally, I'm far more excited about the possibility of new weapon mods like Foregrips and the like coming in. Drum mags are nice, but the idea of some foregrips (or even a rifle grip mod for the M308) is even nicer. :P

Either that or the AA12 always has a drum mag and the mod is just an extended drum mag.

Or the reload animation has the player not touching the mag where the hand would clip if it were a drum mag.

If that's the case, then they should try to make similar animations on other weapons...Those drum mags were planned since day 1,and releasing them only for a paid dlc and/or as a paid dlc (another Gage/Butcher pack?) would be too much of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move...

A ♥♥♥♥ move it would be, I would hope OVK would be smart enough to remember everyone already knows the drum mags exist in game.

Right now we don't know:
  • Is the drum mag exclusive to AA-12 or does it fit any other weapon?
  • Is the animation changing finally implemented or do the straight and the drum mags share the same reload animation?
  • Is this all the content that the today's update includes or will there be something extra?
I'm sceptical as well, but let's wait and see all what's in before judging.

Why is everyone freaking out for these drum mags?
Sure, I'd love to have a new worthwhile shotgun but a pump action would have been my preference.
Izhma is fun by some time but also gets boring pretty fast as it's "point in general enemy direction, keep finger pressed until everyone is dead".
Don't think the AA 12 will be much different just featuring a bigger default mag and maybe less total ammo/pick up something like that.

Because drum mags have been there since the very start of Payday 2, yet OVK has never been able to actually implement them ingame properly, until now.

I know about that.
They could have also buffed the mag size of izhma looooooong time ago without adding a fancy drummag if they wanted to do that.
Pls don't say anything about realism at this point.

We're freaking out because drum mags for other weapons in game were planned since release, and are in the game files since day 1

-Drum mag for IZHMA
-The RPK drum mag was already available in game files for the AK (also the tactical vertical grip of the RPK)
-Beta and Beta C-mag for the AR-15 weapons, for the JP36,Compact5 and for the UAR

Also, vertical, angled and side foregrips were discarded for the same reason

They could have made a slightly bulkier ak quadstacked mag for the Izhma and call it double stack mag (which as far as i know actually exists)

no need to pretend. yokuu gave all of them to us for free already.
who cares about clipping. his compresensive recipe book of weapon parts customisation is utter brilliance.

i bet the aa12 and the m32 drum mags are for those weapons only.
