Oh, I could lose my mind, and start screaming about how bows are stupid, include a few references to peoples sexuality and playing skill, and maybe add a few racist comments if you are feeling out of sorts.
I started reasonable, and intend to end so. I can get down and dirty, but I find if you don't drop to a similar level, you can defer the usual riff-raff by being to reasonable for them to argue against.
Just do what many of us do and ignore them. OVERKILL takes stupid decisions from time to time and we're able to express our opinion on that just fine (Which is why they're currently discussing what to do with the horrible infamy 2.0 system). There's a reason why the reddit sub calls this the cancerhub. I agree with them locking threads that are just repetitive and useless, we don't need yet another "WHERE ARE OUR COMPLETELY OVERKILL SECRET ITEMS???" thread.
If you want a good conversation just go to r/paydaytheheist. Most of the people are fine with that over there and you wont find circlejerk posts that are so common around here.
I once wrote a 40 line paragraph in one sentence that my teachers couldn't nitpick... I'll tone it down.
And yes, I get the very open blanket that Moderators are given over the community, with little control aside from moving or shutting down a thread. My point is, that thread was another pointless anti-mod rant. It was going to burn out like just the rest. The community self regulates pretty well in that regard.
The issue is, with every other thread listing a censer or ban for comments, maybe waiting 3 posts in, making the last comment the mods, and locking it down was a poor choice. That was the whole point. Letting the community shut down a thread, as I suspect it was well on route to do, would have been a simpler solution.
I would, for all intents and purposes, rather gargle a full pack of old school razor blades while drinking a bottle of bleach and lemon juice than join a reddit thread.
I have a fully functional forum and a very workable friends list to allow me to talk to people I want to direct comments at. Why would I leave one of two official chats for a game, and join a third part commentary about the same subject?
The fact that some people from a company or group might check that, well, that is great. I have no reason to stray outside of the Steam or OK forums. I have nothing to say and nothing to do that might cause me an issue.
Thank you for informing me of the location of that information. I do get you can just type reddit and pretty much anything else and get the reddit for it. But I shall stay away.
And I do get the BS about certain things.. Good lord.. who was the mod that was running the hidden door in the pool BS in PD:TH? I still got a ton of fun game play from that rumor, but I was still mad. I studied every inch of carpet and every random painting in that BBQ heist. I killed so many dozers at the power boxes with my Reinbache, it got silly.
See, that's your problem, you're judging a sub forum because of the site's fame. You can't expect the situation around here to change for the better when you have such a baseless opinion towards a sub forum you have no idea about *just* because it's on Reddit. It's exactly the same attitude people who often cause trouble around here has (Including the ones calling out moderators on their censoring, even though it's not true at all).
You do realize that r/paydaytheheist is *one* out of *thousands* of subforums out there right? And that rational people dodge ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sub forums like r/games (THAT is one cesspool you should never touch) while sticking to other ones where people are actually rational right? In my case the payday sub forum is one of the very few I check along with r/steam and r/pcgaming. No one is going to force you to check every single reddit sub if you go to the payday one once.
Bonus points for actually having people from OVERKILL Software as part of their mod crew over there. Many of them even create "Ask Me Anything" threads over there all the time and you're missing out just because you're riding the reddit hate circlejerk (Of which I was part of in the past).
But I don't really care enough about a minor game that takes up a small percentage of my actual hobbies time to follow it on a third forum. I think, instead of discussing it, I am going to go grab breakfast, then go see Fury Road, and then maybe come home and play a bit of the 20 or so games I actually have on my plate to complete.
Peace out.
