Full Controller NOT Supported?
Why doesn't my xbox controller work with the PayDay2? I have a rock candy (or something) usb connected controller and it works with my other games (except for ones w/o support). Please help!

Because shooters that require precise aiming are supposed to be played with mouse.

Then why would the game SAY full controller supportted?

I was wondering when this week's keyboard and mouse snob would show up.

Just because he uses common sense doesn't make him a snob. Get a pc, ffs

Controller works fine for me (Logitech F710, set to XInput). The game probably has trouble detecting your specific controller. Try contacting Overkill at info@overkillsoftware.com.

While his response was rather unjustified, I do have to say that mouse is objectively superior in First-Person Shooters.

Will do, thank you!
And I do use my mouse, but i was just trying the controller. Thought it was broken.
And i do have a PC thanks.

Make sure that you also press A/X on your controller until you get to the main menu or else it'll default to keyboard. If you press anything on your keyboard between the start of the game and the main menu (Screen that shows Crimenet online/offline, options, etc) - It will switch to keyboard with no way to change it back without restarting.

There is full controller support as I use my official 360 pad with it from time to time when im grinding and want to lounge on the couch, If your pad isn't supported due to being 3rd party / less well known brand I'd try mapping keys to it with something like xpadder.

For what its worth I also agree with some of the other guys, forget about using the sniper rifles with a pad you'll be there all day trying to line up headshots.

Stop the flaming.

Full controller support is for Xbox controllers only (Microsoft monopoly).

If you don't have Xbox controller use Xpadder or other software for mapping and you will be able to play.

I can confirm the game works with Xbox controller.

Play with whatever you like.

yeah its not flaming on my part its a constructive comment. The sniper rifles are useless with a pad, more so than any other FPS game I've ever played on a control pad, theres no snap to zoom on them and the deadzones are too twitchy. Its not mouse / kb snobbery its unfortunately just how the game plays with a pad.

Just as an idea if nothing works: there is also converter software which simply translate your controller movements/swings into keyboard/mouse swings. So even older, non-supported controllers could theoretically be used to play PD2 (or any other game). Just don't ask where to get them, the last time I did this was 4 years ago and the software I used is sadly no more free trial.

You must be doing something wrong, my controller works fine, at the risk of sounding like a "keyboard and mouse snob" I have to say I prefer the keyboard and mouse.
When I started playing on Steam I really wanted a controller, I bought the ols school corded one and hated the lag, then I bought the wireless port with wireless controller, and the lag was worse. Ironic isn't it, that I now prefer the old school way over the controller.....could it be that this game is meant to be played that way??

Mate, fps games on PC are meant to be played with keyboard and mouse.
