HELP!! Hacking my pc THROUGH Payday 2?
I just played a random game with 3 other random players. It was bank heist: Deposit on DW. Then a player who is (18-100) came in, and he just flew through the locked gate, took out all the guards and civs and placed the drill in five second. He was obviously cheating, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE IMPORTANT PART.

We called him out for being a cheater, then he left. As soon as he quits, my antivirus system popped out, and warned me that a program from payday2 is trying to read and record my keyboard activities. So I went back to the game, and found out TWO OTHER PLAYER IN MY GAME GOT THE SAME WARNING FROM THEIR ANTIVIRUS

I am thrilled right now, the idea of people joining your game and just hacks into your computer make me feel unsecured. This is just freaking gey.

That seem like a very convoluted way to try to hack someone.

I know. Before the game starts we were preplanning, it took some time and he got frustrated and wanted us to start the game immediately.

Find the hacker's name, usually right at the top if he's the last person you played with
Click his name
Report him to Steam

Disconnect your connection and shut it down for days?

I work as a developer for an anti virus company, I think that you either misunderstood something or you are misrepresenting yourself.

"A file from payday2 is recording keyboard input"? No anti virus would say that, of course the game reads keyboard input - how else would you move around? Microsoft Word also reads keyboard input, and mouse movements too...

Malware can install keyloggers which are drivers that read keyboard input globally, but why would you say it was "a file from payday2"?

Also there is no way of sending binary commands over the payday communication channel, so it would have to be a really serious code execution exploit for that to happen. "Hackers" in payday are just people who have downloaded a cheat program. A real hacker would not waste their time on you, they work for criminal organizations or government...

Agreed, it's unlikely someone's targeting Payday 2 as potential vector, but exploiting security problems in game engines is not too far fetched. I remember a set of paper where some researchers described possible scenarios to exploit overruns in different engine's network layers to gain access to the dedicated servers running them.

Thanks for the help. It just popped up again, but i was in game so I didn't read it.
Normally cheaters in Payday will get labeled for cheating as soon as they cheat, like changing the script and stuff. This one didn't show up. is it possibly a new hack or this guy is able to bypass the system?

Also, my Payday 2 starts glitching out right after the anti-virus reported the issue. Does it have anything to do with this? My game had never lagged out before this happened.

Cheater normally DONT get marked as cheaters. Only stealing DLC content (masks, weapons or hosting dlc heists), and some equipment related cheats (too many deployables, too many grenades and so on) gets them marked as cheaters.
