It makes cops want to dodge and stay behind cover.
You want a high threat when you are an Enforcer, since you are going to have the ammo/armor/guns to deal with scarring enemies, while surviving the shift in focus of the other enemies that are outside of the threat range.
Mechanics doesn't have a "K".
Enemies duck out of the way of oncoming fire for a bit as they get suppressed.
Once the enemy has reached maximum suppression, they are immune to further suppression for a few seconds.
An enemy that takes damage reaches maximum suppression instantly.
Silenced guns have most of their threat taken away.
Enemies looking at you when you fire your loud guns is only tangentially related to threat because of the last fact. That is purely based on them hearing your loud shots. A gruber and a AMR-16 will make enemies look at you at the same rate per bullet.
Actually, threat qualifies as the noise made by the gun.
It does not. Threat and noise are unrelated attributes, other than that silencers happens to reduce both.
you are in the sewers of go bank, you go the wrong way. suddenly you realize all the spawns were building up behind you, and you are surrounded by a mob on both sides. you sprint and shoot into the crowd, with a high threat level, and literally run right through them. without the threat level, it would be a suicidal behavior. there are good points to threat level, i've just found that putting points into it isn't really worth it for my playstyle.
So basicly its good for closer ranges and for escaping?
it certainly comes in handy when you are suddenly overwhelmed and you need to move away/through a crowd quickly. its really useful for that purpose, but that's only if you get the specials first before trying this. tazers and cloakers will just whack you when you try running through a mob if you don't take them out first. also someone else mentioned supression if you are lets say moving across the street. there are useful reasons for sure. it comes in handy when you're really in a bind, but most of the time it just makes everyone harder to shoot.
