Frustating Glitch on Big Bank
Nothing can be done about last nights run now, but I just needed to sound off on this one.

I was working on the Entrapment achievement (and, by extension, Don't Bring the Heat). Big Bank, Normal difficulty (because I just wanted to chill and watch some Netflix before bed). I had a pretty easy layout, time lock and server room on second floor, computer was easy to get to. GenSec believed my lies, elevator dropped off a guard, but no big deal.

I took out the cameras so all I had to do was haul 12 bags of loot to the van while avoiding the lasers and a mere three guards. I had purchased SpyCam in the vault entry way and over the vault desk, so they were generally spotted for me the whole time. Easy right? I even had the keys, so I didn't need to drill or anything.

I was able to haul 14 (because hey...lost count at some point) bags to the roof and pitch them over the edge to the van. It took a while because I was solo (an hour by the time I was done). A lot of the bags ended up on the roof of the van, some in front of it. Some of you might see where this is going already...

Anyway, I snuck down to the van, murdered an innocent civilian that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and started nabbing the bags off the top of the van and chucking them in. I didn't think this through, however. As soon as I threw in the bag the would unlock escape, I jumped up to grab the next and was standing IN the escape. That was totally my fault. I completed the heist (got the Don't Bring the Heat achv) but there was a problem!

Everything disappeared....all the extra loot bags not in the van yet, all the NPCs, guards, my useless AI companions, bagged bodies, hostages...everything. No sound either. The escape rectangle wasn't working for me. I even wandered all the way back to the vault and picked locks, looted whatever was inside until I got another bag. I threw a bag of gold in the van, registered it and still couldn't exit. It was like I completed the level but it never transitioned to the rewards screen. Ahh well....I would be more frustrated had that been on Deathwish because THE MONEY WOULD BE GREAT THAT WAY!

Anyway, thanks for reading. Just venting. I suppose I will waste another hour getting that achievement.

TL;DR - When you pitch your bags off the roof of Big Bank to accumulate them at the van before loading...throw them off to the side, not AT the van. You have been warned!

I'm assuming it was easier for you to go to the roof than out thru the parking garage for whatever reason but I'm still sorry that happened. Thanks for the heads up!

The garage door was closed. Is there a way to open it?

Honestly, thats the first time I had used the default escape. Always elevators or bus, depending on what I was doing....

I did this solo a few nights ago too, my time was just over 58 minutes and I got a few extra bags from all the deposit boxes.
I found you can throw the bags from the lower roof directly into the back of the van securely and quite consistently.
I missed once and one landed on the roof of the van, but I was able to jump up high enough while behind the van to start grabbing it, and safely got it into the loot drop zome without accidentily escaping.

I was pretty terrified the whole time because I had spent an hour on it and didn't want to lose my progress, but the trick is to just be careful and take your time at that last part.

Sucks though, want some help on another attempt a little later?

You can unlock the garage door/loading bay by purchasing the Unlock Door asset in Preplanning, I believe it's one favor.

Poke: Thanks...I will see what I have left for favors. I generally spend 2 on Body Bags in the managers office, 4 on two different SpyCams, and 2 on Locating the Key Box. i <think> that is it, so I should have them left over.

Spoon: Thanks for the offer, but I am at work right now and won't be online for like 8 or 9 hours. I tried throwing them in to the back of the van from up there, but apparently my aim sucks. And I kept getting detection pings from wandering civvies. After a couple had landed on top of the van, I figured forget it, I will deal with it on exit.

Once you get used to aiming your throws, you can reliably toss the bags (gold too) into the escape van without having to worry too much about followup. These days I bring ECMs just in case.

Looking back on my own failures at solo'ing BB for Entrapment, it took me a couple of attempts... comical as they might have been. The first time I tossed all but one of the bags into the van, then made a jump to the ground. Cat Burglar couldn't save me from that deceptive leap. Second time I did the usual routine of getting maybe 10 bags tossed into the van from the roof, but I thought I'd be cute and jump on top of the van to break my fall this time. Well my logic was sound there, but I didn't think the whole thing through. Entrapment denied.

Third time was a charm though.

I once played Big Bank with the Bus escape and suddendly fell through the floor, rendering me and my crewmates unable to complete the heist because I was the host.

It's possible on a few levels. If you do ever fall through the floor, try and wiggle and crawl your way off the edge of the map so you fall down into the abyss - if you get low enough (just a few seconds) it will teleport you to the closest player.
