Payday 2 Cloaker: Too Powerful?
Most people were saying that cloaker is overpowered, and he is too powerful to be in game - personally I WASNT one of them. Now Cloaker got buffed, and his sound is very hard to hear. Personally, Im not using headphones, so Im 100 % sure I cant hear as good as people who do use them - but okay..thats pretty much my problem. The thing is that devs probably forgot that this game got very loud soundtracks with very high vibes in them - and they are all around one of the most dominant things which you notice while in assault wave. Personally I love soundtracks, but its really hard to hear a Cloaker with that his new sound through Payday 2 soundtracks - and I dont want to turn them off...they are great. Is there anyway how to make Cloaker´s sound easier to hear in options or IDK?

People have complained enough that overkill should hopefully increase the volume of the cloaker sound.
To be fair, Cloakers were never originally meant to be heard as loud as they were. They were, originally, meant to be as quiet as they are now. By that I mean the actual sound, not the literal volume. Hell, they didn't make ANY noise in the first game.
Although I admit I would like the noise range to be a bit wider, you may as well be on top of a Cloaker to hear it during a gunfight.

You could buff your Sound / SFX volume and lower down the music 1. so it stays balanced.

And tbh, Cloaker sounds hurt my ears

They do make a sound, not always but there's a light hissing sound that can be sometimes heard when you're close to them.

In general, you can't really compare the Cloakers. In Payday 1 they weren't actually all that threatening. They could down you instantly and that was the biggest danger but then again, they always spawned in the same places, usually always at around the same time and just stand around. They don't go under Cars, they don't jump atop you from a Vent or jumpkick you out of a sewer.
And just watch that, the Payday 2 Cloaker would just jump kick and hit you regardless of the distance:

That being said, the Cloakers in Payday 2 are still rather easy to kill, since you just learn where they spawn, where they wait and the green glow from their visor is a lot stronger.
You just have to also listen to Manholes open up and Vents opening.

Getting downed by a Cloaker is actually a good thing in certain sitiuations. It doesn't count toward the 3 Downs counter and being revived can give you actually health back if you were low enough. That tactic even worked back in Payday 1 and still works perfectly fine.

I don't mind them, but there should be some way more aggressive caps on how many can be on the map at the same time and how often they can spawn. 9 times out of 10 if I'm downed by a cloaker it's because I got blindsided while I was busy shooting at 2 others.

Moar Cloaker butthurt. Yes, cloakers are annoying but OP? No, definitely not. The only time they get you is if your teammates are ♥♥♥♥♥-footing about getting you, usually being so afraid of the cloaker beating you, they don't aggressively try to clear away the mobs and kill the cloaker via highlighting it and simply headshoting it easily. Nope, kllling a cloaker is impossibly hard for bad players for some reason.

Remember: getting downed by a Cloaker does not count towards your downed counter. So you can get downed by them a million times and won't be instantly sent to custody after 4 times like you would when you'd get downed by regular damage. So all you need to do is to make sure that you get downed in places where it's safe to revive you, and they'll become essentially harmless.
I've never found Cloakers that dangerous. Sure, they charge behind you, but they make a deafening kamikaze-esque scream that, if you have good reaction time, can be enough time for you to turn around and land enough shots on his head to kill him. And on Overkill difficulty where you regain half of your health after a down, you can almost use a Cloaker as a healing station when you're out of medic bags.

The cloakers are a mix between tazers and dozers. They can down you in one shot like the dozers 4-5 shots, but they don't have as much health as dozers but a boosted tazer health. The only thing that really annoys me about them is their absurd kick range and speed. You'll be hunting one down, turn a corner and start firing at him. He'll just flip kick you in the face faster than you can react to it. In the first game they followed you silently and would randomly down you from behind, I don't think they ever flip kicked you at the speed of light though. Still as long as you stick with your group you're fine, which is probably one of the problems people are having with them.

Because they're really really bugged :p desync causes them to fly wildly around the map and they noclip through solid objects to down you.

I do not hear them too. I hear like 1 of 10 cloakers ... and I would be glad for having them without any sound. Here is my own explanation.

I think that enemies like cloakers should be in this game. When I imagine playing without them, you could just lose your patience and no brainly kill everything without blink of an eye... with them, you need to move around carefully, watch your back, watch corners, cars, doors. Doing 360 rotate thing to quickly see what/who is around you. It is just cherry on top of the cake for me.

And It is pretty easy to oneshot them with my Judge gun.

I think that's counterbalanced though. They're much more aggressive in this game. And quicker.

If you see a cloaker in this and they see you they'll more often than not sprint at you from wherever they are. And their jump kick is insanely fast even when unprovoked. In the old game it was just a matter of them running and kicking (which, I'll add, still allowed you to mark them afterwards).

I did not say I want to remove them. I said I want them to be louder than just hard hearable spooks.
