1200 hours players still have questions about the game
Hi there!

Despite me having spent a lot of time in the game, there are still a few minor details I don't know. So I'd like to ask if someone knows...

... what the "level appropriate servers" filter does exactly? Does it filter mission difficulty, mission type or the level of the host?

... what does "allow drop in" change? I guess it doesn't regulate who can see my server or not, because that's what "friends only" or "private" does. So does it make people who joined and ticked "ready" stay in the loadout screen nonetheless unless I uncheck the box and they spawn in me? I don't host that often, and I never really needed that option, I guess I am just curious.

... what this "swoosh" sound is you sometimes get during stealth. What does it do? Does it represent something? I never figured out some kind of system when I hear it, it just randomly appears.

Resolved: it's the sound of your armor (suit) recharging. :rfacepalm:

Thanks in advance for the answers!

Noob;)

-No clue. I'm at V-100 for almost a year. Never used, never needed. Guess it's matchmaking towards rank?

-It doesn't allow players to drop in during a game. They are in the lobby but waiting in planning phase untill the next day starts. Then they can play. Usefull feature, but I don't use it often since it's stealthrelated. I rarely play pubstealth and even for friends I set it private.

-Screenshot? ehmm video? I think I know but I m not sure. If it is what I think you mean, I don't think I know what it is.

1. I think it does make it that the players are around the same level as host (barring people who join as a friend).

3. I haven't a clue what you're on about.

Swoosh?
You're not falling from heights and hearing the armour regen sound perchance?
That occurs all the time though and not just stealth.
Hmm..

The swoosh sound I believe comes from the "mask up" action. You can hear this sound when masking up in BH, JS, 4S. The swoosh sound is also played in the first seconds during stealth in missions where you are automatically masked up (e.g. SR, bomb dockyard).

1: No clue. 2: Players can't join while you're in the game if unticked. 3: It's for when you swooce right in when you put the mask up.

There are level restrictions for heists and difficulties. For example, at 0, you can do most (if not all) heists on normal, but some heists can also be done on Hard while the others are locked. As you progress, you gradually unlock these.

I agree that I'm not even sure what it really does, since any lvl0 player can join any other heist of any difficulty that has not been set to level restricted by the host.

If you have already started the game, it prevents people from joining. A much-overlooked convenient way to let players join only during the lobby and stop any players from joining once the game has started.

Isn't that the "Stealth" segment of one of the BGM?

The swoosh comes randomly throughout the game.

I just had it in a Big Bank solo stealth while being at the stage of opening the vault. And I had it yesterday while stealthing Bomb Dockyard with two friends, and moving to the dock B area. Both games on DW.

Maaaan, are you using random track or Code Silver for stealth soundtrack?
Because Code Silver is mostly silence, except sometimes you hear a strange sound, like a metal sheet falling on the ground.

After the music update we've been stealthingh Train Heist, I couldn't understand what the fu** is this sound, it's so annoying.

I can't exclude that it's from a soundtrack, but I just listened to Code Silver on YT, and that's not it. But I also only found assault tracks from it.

Just in case, here's what I'm talking about:

Nope, the sound is more like a real "swoosh", like wind blowing, and somehow conveys something positive. I just recorded two stealth games of mine, but without any trace of that sound. On the positive side, I successfully stealthed a Dockyard on DW on the first try within a bit more than 10 minutes and without any mistakes. Then I fooled around on the ship a bit before I got afraid of how much hard drive space I have left and ended the mission.

I guess I will record my games more often in the future, and if the sound appears again I will tell you.

Edit: It appears that during stealth I usually don't have any music playing at all. I only remember Shadow Raid having its own track.

I know exactly what youre talking about, that sound just randomly comes in stealth and i actually never bothered about what can it possibly mean....but yeah its not in soundtrack so it maybe signalize something, but i doubt it.
Maybe its just to add immersion, i dunno can be anything

I thought the swoosh sound was your armour recharging.
